not smartness but result of good parenting style. make your kids feel safe and comfortable to talk to you about their feelings, good and bad and feel confident to have to voice whats in their mind without judgment or punishment. they need to feel like you appreciate and care when they talk to about that stuff. thats how you you raise open and emotionally stable and emotionally intelligent adults

@@Biggestnigga It's not easy,it takes self regulation. Find what your triggers are, why they are. And great healthy boundaries. Feel safe first. Self care, is good care. Treat yourself for reward. Give yourself grace as you would a child who don't know until it's known. Patience and Grace is necessary. And that is a way to heal yourself. When you have a child, its instinctual. Be aware how you react and respond. When there's conflict, bring awareness to how your feeling in that moment. Take a moment to put it in 2nd person. Detach it from you, it's not you. When you're able to be aware of your responses, adjust them accordingly: Pause. Process, and figure out whether you need space to process the situation, or if it needs to be handled right away. Solutions are usually a problem when it comes to needing control of the situation. So anger and frustration is the first. Break it down into a protocol of finding solutions. @@CptWhit3y My son (he's biracial) actually taught his wife to swim! 😍 I remember, he went out with her fam on their boat when they were just dating, and he said that there was 8 ppl on the boat, and only he and the oldest brother's girlfriend knew how to swim (I've taken both my sons to the pool since they were toddlers). So, he made a point of teaching her to swim so they could enjoy going to the lake together! I remember my first swim lessons and I'm 20. I was very very young, in pre-k probably but that pool, the duck shaped foam floating mats, the SPECIFIC smell, etc. I'm a very strong swimmer now, and the ocean is no problem for me. I also know how to tread with just my legs, arms, and how to hold my breath long. Always a useful skill to learn

My dad taught me to swim. We vacationed years later and I got swept out in the ocean by a rip tide while he was sleeping on the beach. I really thought I was going to die. But I kept waiting every time a wave would come forward that's when I used my energy to swim forward and to the side. I ended up WAAAAAAAAY down the beach probably 30 minutes later but I'm still here! Thanks dad

She had exhausted herself fighting the rip tide and could no longer swim. My brother somehow knew what to do and encouraged her to just float with him. They both ended up a good 20 minute walk down the beach. It was a very frightening experience for her, and if he had not known what to do, they could both have died!

I’m a white dude. When I was young one of my friends that was black said he couldn’t swim. As kids do we all thought you can swim just jump toward the ladder and paddle. You’ll be fine.. long story short he sunk as soon as he hit the water and had to be pulled out by an attentive lifeguard. He was perfectly fine and unharmed but it’s dangerous for kids to be unable to swim. I’ve always found it interesting how many of my black friends can’t swim. It must be a scary feeling to be afraid of deep water.

Once at my school the teacher asked who could swim and it was like 3 kids out of 40.( all black) As of 2008 the (only stats I could find) said that 60% of black children could not swim or float. The rates were worse for Brittish blacks. Systemic racisim prevented our parents and grandparents from swimming so they can't teach it to us and there is a lack of swimming pools in our areas. In country and rural areas it was a little better but due to history swimming isin't part of our culture so much. The hair is a factor also.

brother, here's my theory: you have a list of stereotypes, & you're just going down that list, crossing things off, creating content to dispell all these stereotypes. don't you dare try to tell me that one of y'all doesn't like watermelon, because then i'll know you're fronting... EVERYONE loves watermelon! all jokes aside, i truly enjoy your content. unless you're completely different off-camera, i want to commend you for being a great dad, good man, & a positive example.

Well done Mummy and Daddy, keep doing such great things for your children! I started having swimming lessons at the start of lockdown as I'd not learned properly as a child (and have trauma from a few incidents where I almost drowned and required rescuing). I'm gaining confidence each time I go. I've been having bicycle lessons too. After a lifetime of watching others have fun from the sidelines and being left with the bags I was finally sick of it and have learned how to swim and ride a bike in time for my 50th birthday. I say that to say this. When I see children learning to get past their apprehension and revel in what they can achieve with their bodies and their minds it brings me joy. When I see adults doing the same I am so proud of them too, I know the struggle and how much vulnerability you need to experience to take those risks that come easier to children. When I see positive examples of great parenting and respect for children as individuals it gives me great hope for the future. Keep on living with love ❤ 🤗😎
