In this episode, I talk about this awkward stand of bottom land hardwoods and upland cedar trees. We are removing the upland cedar trees with a mulcher. The bottom land hardwoods we performed Crop Tree Release to release our swamp white oaks and black walnuts. At the same time, we dropped the less desirable trees to create more mineral stumps, create early successional habitat, but also creating cover and bedding for wildlife as the cedar trees are removed. After a fire is ran through the stand with the combination of open sunlight this awkward stand will be a rock star.
