This should be in the list of ancient music instruments like bamboo flute, rawanhattha (ancestor of violin), Tanpura (string instrument made from wood and pumpkin shell) etc. This is a very simple instrument made of wallnut shell but sounds similar to flute. We used to make musical instruments using banana leaves and mango seeds during childhood.❤
