I had a feeling he would crash. But if he didn't it would have been an absolutely mega lap. He was so absolutely on the limit it was insane to watch.

I’m a Lewis fan, but max was absolutely flying. He was giving it everything he had on that lap, weirdly I was truly devastated for him. This season of F1 has been awesome.

He found the limits to the machine and track on this lap (that first sector was on the edge and then some). Even Lewis' engineer acknowledging it was a flier speaks volumes.

I honestly get why Max still went for it. He locked that left front, and knew he would understeer. That typically means that if you're about to hit something, the front of the car would make contact first. And sure enough, when he saw that the front cleared, he thought he was in the green.What he didn't expect was the bit of oversteer under acceleration. And that's what caught him out. Gutted for Max, but when you're on the limit, you're risking it all to benefit tremendously even though you can lose out massively.

That lap gave me chills, 0,25 up on hamilton. so sad he couldn't compleet the lap.

I was scared for Max in that lap, have never walls close in so fast. At that speed of approach even a blink of eye is fatal.

I think all the drivers say they give it everything, which I think they do but everything in their comfort zone, Max really does give everything, he pushing the car beyond what it can do, and that is a champion trait, one that I haven't seen from any of the other drivers. Anyone that does not respect and appreciate Max for what he has done this year even with his moments is someone you just say "sure buddy" too.

looking back on this video from after Monaco 2022, this easily would have been the lap of the year, maybe even up there with Lewis in Singapore 2018. Lewis's would have been cleaner but something about this lap just showed that max flipped a switch somewhere and can be knock out when he needs to.
