Travis Fimmel. Walks barefoot into an L.A modelling agency with no money in 2002, ends up being King of the Vikings just over 10 years later. Not a bad rise.

Travis is a fantastic actor. Couldn't imagine anyone else playing the role of Ragnar due to how brilliantly he portrays Ragnar. This speech is a big reason why season 3 is my favourite season.

I love the way he whispers in Lagertha's ear... "that means i have the last say." Fucking brilliant acting

have you notice that he doesn't say "not you" to Bjorn? He points to everyone except his son. I fuking love the way he says "you've all had your ideas, and they have all FAILED!!!" you can feel the anger and the rage in his voice ugh, such a brilliant scene, travis killed it!!

The intensity he brings to this scene is amazing.His body language,rapidly changing facial expressions & the manner in which he dominates the physical space is spectacular.I hope that he doesn't become type cast because we have a fantastic character actor in the making here.He could bring that level of intensity to all manner of characters & stories.Apparently though he is a genuinely humble guy who would rather farm than be a Hollywood star.That's his choice but he definitely has the presence & charisma to go big-time in the film world.Fantastic actor.He fills the screen in every scene he's in.All Hail King Ragnar!!(Even though I'm from Wessex!)🔱👑🔱

I love this scene but what I love the most is how bjorn is observing and learning.. he answered “He rules” and then immediately gets to watch his father rule. Awesome lesson for him

Ragnars a walking form of authority and testosterone

I just started watching Vikings about a week ago and ran across this scene yesterday. By far my favorite scene of the show so far. Viking Jax Teller here putting his foot down for the first time with all the people who have known him as he has ascended is outstanding. Travis Fimmel's eyes always look like he is on the verge of killing 10 people then eating a little chicken/fish and taking a nap. I love the look on Bjorn's face when he is finished, true respect and awe of what his father is even as he is gravely wounded.

This is by far the most powerful speech by Ragnar in the series.

Ragnar's speech to anyone except Lagertha: "and as a ruler, I....MEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Everyone else except lagertha: "wut?"

Travis conveys a level of rage and bitterness that is really rare and unlikely to find anywhere else on screen.

His performance in this one short scene alone, should be enough to grant him access to films

Favorite character of all time from any show on television by a long shot.

A leader is made of something different. This scene although fiction illustrates that well. Everybody wants to be the man, but fails to realize they aren't blessed or gifted with the vision of a leader. Ragnar allowed them to prove themselves because sometimes you need to let people show themselves why they aren't the shot caller...That in turn strengthens your power and position even more. Because they will doubt themselves and believe in you even more than they did before.

After Ragnar dies the show takes a huge hit. For one simple reason. Nobody left in the show has even close to the amount of gravitas, or ferocity as Travis Fimmel to make a scene like this work.

He is basically calling everyone his bitch xD Even if he wasn't the King, He'd still shut everyone up and "have the Last Say"...... That's how Awesome he is

This is my favorite scene of the entire show. The way how he looks at lagertha when he says 'It came about because of other peoples actions' Never cease to give me goosebumps.

Real leaders like Ragnar are humble 90 percent of the time. Two things real leaders possess are the ability to know when to throw down the gauntlet and how hard, as well as reprimanding their management. If you are in an organization where the "leader" reprimands staff more than management, you have an overseer. They don't last long.

I'm a new fan of the show. And something I've noticed is that Ragnar doesn't really act like a typical king. He just seems like a respected leader. Even the people arround him don't really give him the courtesies afforded to a king. He mostly just let's everyone do there own thing and he doesn't use much of his authority. I love this scene because he reminds everyone who he is.

Ragnar was able to cow so many people with such dominant personalities into his court and make them fall in line. That takes talent and charisma beyond the mortal realm. Except for Rollo, everyone else still loved him even on their death bed, and stayed with him till he left.

Travis Fimmel is such a great actor.

He taught them a lesson by far one of the best moments

Just watched the series up to and including season 4 and WOW! This scene was fantastic. Loved how he put everyone in their place. I know this character was loosely based on the story of a real person but I sure wish he was our PM instead of the wuss who is now. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to follow this guy into battle. Looking forward to watching the next seasons if and when they come on Netflix.

When your mom leaves you with your little siblings

Ragnar was mostly happy to be a farmer and wanted to make his little space in the world a trade community. Yet everytime he thought he could do that, someone was always trying to shove a title on him. The way Travis played Ragnar and the way the writers scripted Ragnar it was easy to believe Ragnar would let others try and lead, but mostly, they just failed. Ragnar was even fine to let them fail but when he finally stepped in and everyone was trying to step on him, Ragnar finally would have his fill of it and remind them exactly who he was: Their King. His people never learned Ragnar was actually brilliant ands really hated when people did stupid things to make his life or their much harder.

Troughout the series i always liked Rollo more. But now that rollo had been thrown to the sidelines in frankia i didn't feel that way anymore. Instead, the spotlight got back to ragnar on my perspective and ragnar truly was the greatest character in the series.

I think Ragnar is not understood not only by his fellow Vikings but also by the viewers of the show. This is a man who started as a farmer and became Earl and later king... Impressive and many tend to think this is his primary goal. I beg to differ. He is telling the truth in this scene. He truly did not become Earl not long out of ambition, it happend because the actions of others. In the first episode of the show Ragnar tell rollo that Odin gave one of his eyes for knowledge and that Ragnar is willing to give a lot more. Ragnar was simply eager to explore more coltures and since he is a viking he cannot do it on his own and simply wonder of. In the first raid to England Ragnar took as spoils only the Christian priest, althestan. Why give up gold and riches for a simple priest? Cause the priest can give him some insight and knowledge that Ragnar is seeking of a foreign colture. Only later the Earl fears Ragnar's action are of ambition and he duels Ragnar thus the result is Ragnar killing him and becoming Earl. The sane goes for the viking king. What Ragnar is saying in this scene is I had no ambition to gain my positions and titles but as long as I am king you will give me the respect I deserve. When Ragnar sits with Bjorn and they both look at kattegat from above Ragnar asks Bjorn what he sees... Bjorn answers "power" Ragnar is then disappointed as he explains to Bjorn how power alright might seen appealing is a bad concept since it attracts the worst kind of men and corrupts the good. You can see Ragnar's frustration of his position and it is clear he does not want to rule. An implication for this is when he sits down with king eghbert and both onestly say the think they are both good rulers and corrupt as well... Both have a moment when they realize when they look at each other they are very similar yet are disgusted by what they see. When the news arive that the viking settlers where butcherd Ragnar kill the only survivor so he won't tell the Vikings what happend? Why? Cause Ragnar was eager to explore the new colture of francia and if the Vikings knew the fate of the settlement in England the expedition to francia would be suspended until further notice in order to retaliate there slaughter of the viking settlers... I think it Al shows, he was not a good leader, cause he didn't want to rule, he simply wanted to explore the world, he gained his position and titles simply out of curcimstances.

This scene is amazing the way ragnar involves everyone in it and sets a tone towards each one
