That's absolutely NOT true. They do it all the time. (Coaches in any discipline do it ALL the time.) The thing is opera singers usually sound AWFUL singing other genres OUTSIDE of opera. And also, people WITHOUT musical ear tend to overrate ANY opera singer and most of the time they're really not THAT good. This girl DOESN'T fall in any of those two categories though, she''s SUPERB!

@@elbigotesdelatienda I beg the differ...I was a singer here in Seattle through some of the best singers in our lifetime. Allot of the greats from around here all took opera lessons as children (Chris was older) and all from the same teacher. The Heart sisters, lane Staley, Chris Cornell, and Geoff Tate from Queensriche... I know others who also took lessons him but not anyone you would have heard of ... Kenny G took lessons in breathing techniques from the old dude also. I forget his name but probably wouldn’t be hard to find.

Omg I'll never hear that song the same way again! That was the rock opera of my dreams. I don't think those judges really understood what they had. Totally a missed opportunity. She should play with more rock and rap. Her voice comes across as thin and shrill on pop songs like Megan picked. But rock and/or rap mixed with opera will let her shine.

Same, i legitamately had goosebumps, which is the exact kind of reaction her performance aimed for, to have a intense and eerie feel and leave the audience stunned, and she did that. I dont know what kind of performance the person that was chosen instead had but i fully feel she should have gone through instead so that Will could polish the diamond that she is further

Will seemed to be hesitant to steal her and kind of disappointed in her “Paint it Black” performance. Where was the excited Will from the blind auditions?

@@LadyRockville I think once he saw how unique she was instead of feeding into that he has to try and conform her. Which she wasn't about to do.

@@LadyRockville I thought he was trying to play it cool and not have it look like she was his favourite this time. Like a teacher having a favourite child, and it being obvious to the rest of them. Making it look like Megan thought of Blaize and Claudillea equally, and like it was a difficult decision.

@@LadyRockville I think he waited before the steal to put in a "dramatic pause" so that it wasn't obvious. The look between him and Meghan after she picked Blaize communicated so much. They were confirming he was going to steal her. Edited to add: I suspect that Will stealing her was the deal from beginning. I think Meghan turned because Will couldn't, safe in the knowledge that she could pop her into a battle against someone she definitely wanted to keep and Will would steal her. That way, Claudillea could be on the show.

Watched so many of these shows (AGT, the Viice, XFactor, etc and was wowed by so many talented singers, but she’s the only singer that sent chills up and down my arms several times through out her rendition of Paint It Black. Wow! WOW! WHAT A VOICE!!!

I’m similar to your daughter! Classically-trained, not specifically in opera, but in the genre. Legit musical theatre, too. (Im not sure what voice type of soprano I am). I’m only a few years younger than your daughter and Claudillea, but somewhat like your daughter, I didn’t enrol in a classical Bachelor of Music Vocal Performance program because of my social anxiety disorder. I was not meant to do performance at this time in my life, and that’s okay! I have a rewarding (and taxing) Hospitality career envisioned in front of me, which I was created exactly for. I aim to build enough influence to work in the ethical and social justice side of supply chain fashion retail, and I know it’ll involve tons and tons of public speaking, but that’s why I’m learning to manage both my social and generalised anxiety disorders now while I’m still in uni, in my 20s. But of course I’m not letting go of my voice, while I’m at it. No way. Just because that dream died, it doesn’t mean I should drop the activity altogether. I keep singing, keep exercising my vocal fold muscles, on the side, and have been working on my chest mix self-taught so I can sing other styles of music without it sounding off. In September, I’m due to go to Singapore to continue my hospitality management degree at my uni’s first international campus, and I heard that in Singapore they have a fantastic Performing Arts scene, and even a nice classical conservatory. Once my anxiety is managed more, I might look into performing a bit, in my free time!
