Ive been invited to go to Japan to check out a Tajama Wagyu Farm in the Hyogo province.
This is the second video. Weighing calves and 30 month old steers and heifers as part of the Manaulu feed trial.

Very interesting I've recently joined a scheme here which i have 65 wagyu x dairy I've had most of them since the middle of December they come average minimum 150kg i weigh them roughly once a month and they are putting anthing from 0.4kg to 1kg per day on mostly a silage diet with about 1.5kg of concentrate per day and will go out to grass when my silage is finished or it stops raining. They could do with a te pari set up for weighing them cattle looks a time consuming job. Great video as usual.

Pretty sure he said they were using a temporary set up! Bc your right that little board to weigh them seems very sus and not very reliable! Lol

So if that’s 1200$US for 6 months from 30-24 months with a 20% weight gain increase over average I’d be interested in how that does on my pigs. I treat my sheep and cows to grain but they don’t get it every day. This is interesting…. Keep the info rolling. I’d like to see what they would disclose about percentages and ingredients down the road.

@kiwifarmer what was the name of the feed supplement? Mana Ulu??? Can you explain what its made from and what they’re hopping to achieve from its use? Evidently there are increased weight gains as you have mentioned in these videos

Surely if they are running a credible feed trial they could have made a decent weighing crate? If they are saving 173000 yen (£903)per animal on earlier finishing, how much is it costing per animal to finish them? It seems a very expensive system!

Like I said in the video weighing big animals is not that common over there. I should have added some context about prices. The finished animals sell for between 1million and 1.8 million yen at 30months of age.
