And this time I'm playing with German tank destroyer Sturer Emil with 128mm cannon (at 4.3 Battle Rating). Slow but very powerful machine.

I think I used SIM custom sights form this pack(I got it long time ago) live.warthunder.com/post/719009/en/ It's been a long time since I played SIM. When you don't have any kinds of markers, friendly fire is on, and no 3rd person peaking around corners it definitely hits different. And some of the maps are massive. Give it a try ;)

Well playing Sim with my beloved partner when possible is fun with stock sight(is hard but fun) I just enjoy it when is friendly fire because cost penalty *chuckle*

To be fair, it is quite common for explosions near a tank to detrack them and result in a mobility kill. The rule of thumb is artillery strikes within 50m can risk a mobility kill for a tank. For the latter though... yeah... not so much.

I just don't get how BMP full of expensive atgms have lower repair cost than a tank with stabilizer. Also, falcon at 8.0 instead of 7.0-7.3 makes me question life.

More sim vids would be a treat! I think its a "safe" haven for now away from GRB. Potentially better teammates, CAS is less effective as it actually takes somewaht skill from the cockpit view(compared to ground RB), true gunner sights make it satisfying to get a long range snipe.

I actually stopped playing cause the M61 ruined the last BR I could really have fun in. 5.7 used to be so much fun, you weren't just shitting on new people cause the BR is to low and the tanks were all mostly balanced. But unfortunately now playing 5.7 is just M61 thunder.

@@tukangpintu9578 Dont focus on winning! You should always try to win but dont get mad if you dont. What helped me to not loose interest was concentrating on doing my dailies (For unlocking premium stuff and co) and make my tanks look awesome (I came frome hobby modelling so i tend to arrange my tanks like a little diorama... I actually look up rl pictures and can do this "dio" thingy for HOURS, so therapeutic to me)! Your first 500 hours of gameplay will be only your fundamentals anyway, so take them with a grain of salt ;) Just keep learning and you'll be decent in no time!

Once upon a time, simulator was just a normal gamemode. I loved it because you couldn't get revenge bombed by planes(there was no plane in SB or RB ground forces back then). It was the most fun I had with GF.

SB was dead once they removed the markings of friendly players from everywhere. Since then its just everyone randomly roaming around with no one knowing what is happening

What I thought about simulator battles with tank was like a very scall down still "open world" style game like you have with planes, but no instead you have just regular map with friendly fire on

It's more fun imo, two reasons are the lack of cas and people that play SIM tanks have better awareness on both sides so it feels like you're not playing against bots.

A few years ago someone wrote up an entire proposal for proper combined arms EC, Naval, Ground and Air. Captureable bases, logistics, and a massive amount of players for it. Too bad the netcode can't even handle naval ec with 40 players.

Sim is probably the best gamemode... except when people used captured vehicles, many times i've killed friendly italian vehicles because they are in un-marked allied vehicles and not pinging their location ever. Other than that, 10/10

Honestly rather get tk'd by a teammate when im in my captured german stuff because no pts for enemy and free repair for me 😁 Edit: also fun to roll up next to the enemy and see if they notice im on the other team lol

If you're ever unsure if it's an enemy or friendly, if the situation allows for it you should hit them with an MG and see if you get credit for a hit. Captured vehicles are very dangerous for the opposing team when they're used correctly. Also should take note of what captured vics are on your team and remember where they go so you have a general idea of their whereabouts.

Remember people! When you click rangefinding on a tank in your sight, the HUD will tell you if there is an enemy there!

It doesn't anymore. There were a number of public protests and feedback reports from Gaijin, and the PT-76-57 is no longer playable in 6.3 sim.

Indeed it does make it more difficult, but that also makes it more interesting. You have to identify every target before shooting

@@DOLLARplays The issue arises when a copy-pasta finds a nation-specific vehicle. For example, an Italian M24 and Cromwell spot each other as they both drive onto a street. The Italian M24 immediately knows the Cromwell is an enemy while the Cromwell has to stop and identify if it's American, if he even can since it's so easy to dress up the M24 to _look_ American. This gives the M24 a head-start to get the first shot off unless the Cromwell indiscriminately shoots at every M24 he meets after entering the battlefield. Not very optimal IMO.

@@no-legjohnny3691 well, it's a double edge sword...when driving a captured vehicle you indeed gain highground over an encounter thanks to hesitation but you also tend to be friendly fired quite a lot so you can't roam the map freely. I took the habit to put insignas of my real nation everywhere on the freaking tank: rear, sides, top (for planes but I doubt they can see it honnestly), sometimes even front (on KW1C for exemple, because side ones aren't needed since you easely spot the german 75, but facing it the muzzle can be hard to spot)

You are way more popular than any SB youtuber and this may help gamemode a lot :) P.S. Short guide about how to ID enemy/ally tank would be good as well, but it wouldnt be that short+ feel free to ask for help with this if you decide to make it =)

i do that but its either not that good or just buggy, sometimes it just doesnt work, other times it just stops because theyre moving or a little bush covers half a track, or you literally have to look at them for a longer period of time and maybe die

I play sim only, cannot stand 3rd person view, gunsight inside gun barrel, mix nations and easymode airplanes in RB. Few tips: - T-4-1 "Follow me" is used as "This is my position" as it places marker on map. Use it often. - alt+click on minimap to mark enemies. - in battle mode when each team starts with one cap, spam message to your team to defend. A team which defends their cap usually wins.

its also not a sim battle if you dont shoot a american covered in bushes and find out its not an enemy american tank but one of your allies driving a lendlease. And he's hidden the only identification markings behind all those bushes. And then get called a trash player like its your fault And then you get teamkilled by someone driving the exact same tank as you

My sim moment: Italian Pershing, literally spawned alongside a friend in a Tiger II and I'm already being shot by "fellow" German tankers. I then get damaged and killed not even leaving the first block of the map. This is why I don't play sim often. People don't learn there's vehicle recognition and whatnot.

Last time I played sim I got teamkilled in my Japanese m4a3 despite the guy shooting my Japanese flag to kill me but people make mistakes Then in my Chi Ri 2 I got teamkilled again for no reason. One person on our team called me a 'poor guy'

Anyone remembers the time when Simulator battles were no "event" but regularly available same as arcade/realistic battles? Todays sim battles suck since even lowtier has some OP post-ww2 vehicles in it and russian tanks of 6.0 up are nearly unpenetratable by germans of equal BR

I've been playing alot of sim recently and its actually not as bad as you make it seem I've played at all brs with Russian and German and I have no issue killing Russian tanks 6.0 and up, honestly might be a skill issue

Dude never get rid of the synth theme you’ve got. Absolutely love it and I need a 1 hour long version of the intro to listen to while I work. Do you mix your own music? Edit: I found the song lol. “Never or Right Now” for those that want it.

I'd love to see you play more simulator battles with realistic/custom gun sights. You played custom ones. If you would like to give some more realistic german ones a shot, there are the ones made by RideR2 which I can recommend. Still a blast to watch xD

I love sim battles. A couple friends and i try to do a few matches every so often. We all put numbers on our tanks so we can recognize one another on the battlefield

You should try using a Sherman and pretending your on the enemy team. There are like 8 Sherman’s in every tech tree so they could totally think it’s an ally.

I used to play a lot of sim battles, but they added a lot of nations, and prototypes tanks, and everyone gets a sherman... My small brain finds it difficult to know who to shoot... I think they should make sim battles historically accurate, and avoid these rare tanks altogheter. Great work, btw Dollar... Big fan! Greetings from Brasil!

I think with rangefinder button you can identify who's friendly who's enemy. But yeah those tanks makes things more difficult
