@@TheNajSD As a country boy running wood lands and corn fields. A rootless tree is spotted by it's dead branches and bark rot. Smaller of the trees can be pushed over with little effort by a health teenager. The large ones are a thrill to climb cause you never know how it will come apart when you try to climb it. A short fall to the ground is not the scare factor, its what types of insects nest you can run into as the bark comes apart as you climb the rotted tree. G*D having to deal with angry wasps and hornets are the worst of it.

Never climb a rootless tree - lest it falls. "Rotlaust tre fell". But not only is it important to find the roots, the foundation of what you wish to achieve - it is also your own fundament that grants direction. That's what the song "Odal" always expressed, to me at least: "Djupt i jord gjev rot deg retning". To take it upon you is a necessary burden, but one that can be chosen to be accepted or neglegted as a whole... "Hugs, ta ikkje meir enn du orkar å bere". My sincerest thanks for bringing more to my - no, all of our lives with your work.

Funny, a rootless tree is a rotted tree. As a teenagers I climb everyone in my wood land area for the thrill of taking a short drop to the ground and just to see how it will come apart as I climb it. Afterwards my group of friends/ family would break apart the remains and create camp and garden spots for other plant growth. Mushrooms love to grow on wood rot. We are the gardeners and care takers of the Earth.

In a world that is rapidly shifting more than ever, having a solid sense of place in time is more important than ever for a lot of people. I can relate to this A LOT! At the time I type this: 466 likes 0 dislikes. Speaks for itself! Wardruna don't just produce music, they speak to the memories of our ancestors that echo in our subconscious and/or our soul.

It is astonish how Einar have a lucid vision about his approach to his own culture. He have spoke that there is so many ways to do and to understand this historically fragmented tradition (or way to live). This thougt is wonderful and it shows a respectfull way to understood somethings, without ilusion, but including the intelect to the intuitive pocess. I think that demand a lot of historical research, a lot of intellectual understanding and a lot of reverent meditation. By refusing to climb a rootless tree, Einar climbs on the shoulders of giants and deeply plants the roots of his own stem. My respects and best regards from Brasil.

I am Norman from the peninsula of Cotentin (South far Western part of Normandy) and I practice genealogy. I am really into the search of my roots and interesting in the history of "viking" era and ancient scandinavian world. The colonization of Cotentin peninsula was quite different with the northern part of Normandy which is mainly done by Danish with Rollo, although he was probably Norwegian. The settlers of Cotentin came mainly from Ireland and Danelaw. Primerily originated from Norway but they were the third generation of settlers mixed wih locals (Saxon, Irish). Many years before the Saxons also established colonies to the shores of Bayeux nearby Cotentin. I always enjoy listening your music. My prefered is Helvegen which make me particularly in connexion with my passed mother and father and all my ancestors. Thank you for your work.

Love your music and your message, my ancestry is Scandinavian, and I love to learn more and experience more of this culture, and I’m happy that you have brought it to the world for others of and not of this background to be aware, we are all children of this earth. You were epic I’m Gorgoroth, you are more epic now in Wardruna, I almost have your full collection on vinyl and pre ordered your latest for when it is released, being a disabled combat veteran your music heals my mind,(my mind being the disabled part of my warrior being, as sometimes PTSD can be described as the now inherited warrior mindset not being able to fit or comprehend the civil mind, never to go back to what it was before for it is changed forever.) I find much healing and calm in reading and understanding the sagas and through your music in Wardruna I feel as though the spirit is being shown the way to heal and to understand and to find center and balance. Thank you for making such wonderful music, I hope to one day come to a live performance, weather it be in the USA, but preferably to visit your home land and witness your Skaldic abilities on the sacred ground. May the white wolf 🐺 someday meet the white raven 🐦 in the land of the ancients.

The roots of the tree are hidden for a reason. What man sees with his eyes does not tell the whole story. That which is lost to history is gone from our knowledge, but it is as real to the gods as the light is to the leaves. I particularly love Jordan Peterson’s lectures on the unconscious mind: the subconscious is there because of our evolution; it is so complex and hidden that you can never fully understand it, but it is full of ancient wisdom.
