Being able to see this in action on video is just amazing. And, these missions are not just about NASA/America pulling off a great feat of engineering. NASA uses engineers, scientists, construction personnel, and support workers who come from all over the world. These missions really are for all humans on this blue marble floating in space...

It's really a beautiful time to be alive, to witness all of this in full color high res video. 😊 I never take it for granted

I worked on this mission while working at JPL. It was called Mars 2020 before it got the Perseverance name. I even had the chance to see the testing of the helicopter in our 27 ft. diameter by 84ft. tall vacuum chamber. The level of cleanliness that we followed while assembling the rover was the tightest that we NASA has ever had because we wanted to make sure that nothing from Earth was transferred to Mars so when we find something it is unique to Mars and not something brought from Earth. This is an amazing feat of engineering to accomplish in what seems a simple procedure but is in fact a series of very involved steps with multiple risks that are controlled and mitigated through design and process

the mind blowing technology behind this mission is off the charts ,I watched with sheer joy at being able to see the landing ,Ihope everything goes well with it,s work load and wait with excited anticipation for the pictures

Saw Mars for the first time as a 12 year old boy through a neighbors 3 ins telescope as a tiny disk with a few dark patches on September 8, 1956. Became an amateur astronomer that day. Never thought I would live to see these wondaful images as if I was standing there. Still doing astronomy to this day and hope I live long enough to see the samples it collects brought back to earth on an upcoming mission.

The best thing about this mission is that the quality of the footage is so superb nowadays that it's gonna be a bummer for the flat earthers and space deniers to disprove it. I just can't wait untill we get to see a movie of the rover riding on mars and capturing the drone flying etc. All in colour, all in HD.

Undoubtedly this marks a milestone in terms of space exploration. A truly historic achievement that will almost certainly be regarded as a significant breakthrough for the future of expeditions to Mars.
