More About Fabricated:
After biological life has passed from existence, our machines try to restart it with the pieces we have left behind. On an anonymous assembly line, a creature is built from steel and bone and sent off. Making his way through an old world that is dying and a new world struggling to be born, he begins to sense that he may have a part to play in the evolution of his imperfect kind. This film was animated by one person over ten years in four different cities.

As a person who has worked with "parts" that look like the ones in this flick my whole life, I loved it. At first I thought it was amazing CG texturing. I've seen some CG work that came close to the look of stainless steel, but not this close. Then I realized it was all real. Stop frame animation is becoming rare, and this is excellent work. As for a plot, I don't really need a super deep plot to enjoy this flick, a full length feature film would not work, but a short such as this is fine. I think the plot is about survival of the fittest and evolution, which go hand in hand.

Absolutely fascinating and highly imaginative! Wonderful! May we see more from this film maker in the future! Interesting fact: the silver “tail” on the main protagonist is actually an item known as shield braid. It is used to surround a series of wires, known as a wire harness, to significantly reduce signal-to-noise ratio. I know because I used to work with this. And the black woven “skin” on the second creature is known as nomes sleeping, used to reduce friction and chafing on wire harnesses that would otherwise damage wires.

Best stop motion i've ever seen. The lighting & sound are exceptional. Best film i've seen on featured on Dust channel. And this one actually has a storyline & meaningful themes.

This is probably the best stop-motion film I've seen. I can see why it took ten years to make.

I absolutely love the esthetic and the fact that it is stop motion. The engineering and machining that went into the design and creation of the characters and the set, the colors as resulted by mixing brass, copper and steel, the perfectly smooth animation. Perfection. Only somebody that's crazy enough would dare to master that style of animation. My respects.

Conceptually and visually mindblowing! Ten years well spent and my thanks for the final product. Pure art. This is what sci fi is all about...swapping your reality for the one offered and not even realising it, 'til the end! 5*

I cannot imagine how much patience that would be needed to make small stopmotion films, but this is on an entirely new level. I just.... WOW. I don’t have enough words to describe this. Amazing!

For the first time I saw something hilarious from Dust! That first 'Rawwrr' ! With no lungs or voice box! Couldn't help laughing all the way through this awesome film! Thanks guys, I needed something special, and you did just the thing to snap me out of sheer desperate boredom! Wow.

Just finished my 3rd viewing of this visually stunning piece of work. Perhaps it appeals to the long ago Mechanical Engineer in me, when I thought that with the right Lathes and Milling machines you could Make Anything - especially with a bit of Metal Bending & Shaping and an application of Welding for good measure ! Alas and Alack - those days are gone - were going every day I was in Training - And I wasn't being Trained to Operate the Machines that would make our humble Skills with Micrometers, Vernier Calipers and Old Steel Rules - too soon - Obsolete - at 20 - my Best Years to come, or Then, Left Behind !? Beautiful, wondrous little cogs & wheels & screws & chains - ALL......... Ticking ! Like Clockwork Confection ! - Thank You To All, For This Little Gem💎 ☘PoD.🍀 +

Except that it is stop motion, all real, moved millimeters at a time, clicking two or three frames, then moving stuff, and repeating. It took ten years to make! It's way cooler than any cgi.
