It pays to look under whatever you are about to sit down on in the outdoors, whether it be a rock or a log. I noticed this Water Moccasin under a rock in the creek I was hiking along and decided to get a close up with my GoPro. He didn't like the camera, obviously.

I definitely do NOT miss having those sneaky buggers around me!!! Spent my highschool years living in Central Texas, Ft. Hood / Killeen area and much time hunting and fishing on post, there and I believe we had them in Missouri when we lived at Ft. Leonardwood MO too. Had way more experience with them in Texas and was glad to nor have them here once we moved back to Oregon. Unfortunately Oregon now has much more dangerous snakes to worry about in the form of politicians. I'd rather have the water moccasins to be honest!

Holy Cow! Do you guys ever leave the house without snake boots on?😱

Depends on were I'm going. It pays to watch where you step along those creeks.

I cringe when I see hikers setting beside huge rocks/ boulders or fallen tree trunks as these venemous snakes could be hiding beside or underneath them trying to stay cooled off. They could easily bite a person and it could be a lethal bite if one could not get to a hospital soon enough to receive some vials on anti snake venoum.

It does happen unfortunately. A little extra effort to look under and around where you sit can save your life.

Grumpy lil feller! I noticed, they along with most snakes in general, get more defensive around moulting time. Been out a bit. Good to see you and your upload today Dave. Apologies amigo, "STUFF" happens. I agree that Scott has some amazing captures and philosophy as well. I do have a question though, had a strange encounter in my back yard, let my pup out one night and she started raising heck. I went to see and found her, not approaching, but barking at two armadillos. In all my life I've never seen an aggressive armadillo. One ran off, and the other, turned towards her and charged. She ran behind me, and this thing was still coming, it wasnt one bit intimidated by me. I had to dispatch it. Have you ever experienced an aggressive armadillo?

Hello Mel! No I've never seen an aggressive armadillo, but my friend John Hodges took a video of one rearing up and jumping at him. It's on his channel 'John Hodges everything outdoors.' Maybe your dog was interrupting a mating pair and the male took offense. IDK

Oh yes. It was mounted on a pole. I was out of it's striking distance.

Fast buggers. I have not yet seen an individual with a cottonmouth bite that I know of. All have been Copperheads. I did see that idiot Shelby on Swamp Men, pick one up and bite it’s head off, and get a fang in the mouth. Another time he was bit on the hand and both times went to the ER
@BigfootandMore
@BigfootandMore Рік тому
Yeah, I don't recommend handling them, much less biting one. LOL
