People saying they like him is just because of his appearance, the dude (at this point, don't know his future development) is a stalker an has an obsession with love (hence the name of the show), he put his life at risk just to show his affection and over analize/study everything about the person he is dating. If you really like him, you ahould understand that he needs help and that being his partner is not the way go do it.

As a person who read it, they’re both flawed characters and his character development is trying to unlearn his toxic behaviour. The true constant, at the very least, is that he would never hurt her.

I just also didn’t want to discount his other values and just say he has a pretty face when he does have kindness in him and is capable of learning self-care.

I mean, yeah, but let's be honest: most people, me included, wouldn't think about asking for consent before touching the hand of someone you're trying to help get up from the ground, although this is a special case since he was on edge from her explicitly talking about touching with consent before do yeah, this isn't that crazy but it does show A LOT of reflection behind every thing he does with her, borderline paranoia but I don't think it's that far

That he is. He forced the girl into a relationship she didn't want by hurting himself if she didn't agree to it. Looking for some stupid hair clip in the snow, standing the freezing cold for hours unnecessarily, that is not love. The guy is psycho.
