John is 100% right! The team is constructed for the point guard to do all the scoring, and everybody else just kind of floats. Atlanta still has never paired Trae with a true running mate that he can rely on. And i'm not talking about somebody like Dejounte that plays the exact same position he plays lol. That was goofy from the start. Look at all the talent that Dallas has surrounded Luka with. From Porzingis to Irving. Then went out and got P.J. Washington and Gafford to sure up the defense and add more versatile scoring bigs. The one time, they gave him a semblence of help he took Atlanta to the ECF in his 1st ever playoff appearance.. Since then Atlanta has not upgraded or added to that in any real way. If they would have, Atlanta would be much further along.

@demond looking at the hawks situation i dont think they are going into rebuild since they dont own their 1st round pick for 2025. I think they may try to retool with free agents or trades and keep the DJ and Trae pairing together for another season. maybe try to get a tobias harris for size defence and 3 pt shooting. maybe a gary trent jr for 3 pt shooting, or even trade for a bruce brown. they likely get rid of deandre hunter this summer and let jalen johnson take his minutes. also there is the issue of having 2 picks in a weak draft that most teams dont want. hawks have young guys they dont even play like griffin and bufkin so if they keep the picks, they likely have to move on from those guys. maybe hawks try to move up in the draft to get more of a sure fire pick in the 5-6 range by trading their 2 picks at 10 and 13. If they can get clingan at 6, they could let OO start and have a back up center coming up in clingan and get rid of capella. after the top 8, its all over the place so it tells you no one really knows what those players are like. hawks gave their 2025 pick to spurs so rebuild is likely not in the cards. and if they trade dejounte murray, they wont get the value back from the teams that want him in picks like lakers, cuz lakers just go out and buy players so they will not really be bad.
