I've watched the moment that Julia hops out on stage like...30 times. it makes me so happy. Like my sister is home from college or something.

I could NOT keep a smile off my face during Chloe's dance/commentary on the silliness, if taken seriously, of STLD's choreography story. I LOVE this genre of dance movie...A ballerina is a little heavy and can't turn out, but she ROCKS harder than anyone, so she invents from scratch ROCK BALLET (Center Stage)...a hip hop criminal cleans floor at a hoity-toity dance academy, and dates the hottest dancer there, and they invent NEW MOVES while they FALL IN LOVE (Step up). Save The Last Dance is one of the more personable ones because it's smaller in scale and focuses on the relationship. Yes, it's utter nonsense in terms of the actual evolution of dance choreography; all these films imagine that no-one in the dance world has ever seen rock or hip-hop and are blown away by the the 'street' dancing. But the fantasy world is lovely and it's heart is in the right place. Somehow ALL of that--simultaneously--her love for the film, and how dang silly it is, was in Chloe's performance.
