Parts of Kenya, Burundi, and Tanzania have been hit with heavy rains and flooding, forcing thousands to evacuate. Officials there are pleading for help.

I'm a Kenyan and while I appreciate the concern and situation is critical, I don't find our government stretched at all. I dont see Navy, Coat Guard, National Youth Service, Police, Fire Departments, Military Engineering Brigades deployed. Often disaster management funds are dismissed by people as senior as the president himself, and county (state) governments buy substandard fire equipment at astronomical coasts (recently a fire department was seen using a car wash machine/horse and nozzle to put out fire) yet the budget was allocated. Help is good, but for what cannot do, not for what our governments are mismanaging and neglecting despite availability of funds, resources and trained equipped personnel.
