How can someone experience the world of Wham‘s great compositions, its timeless sound and George‘s awesome one of a kind voice but call an Ariana Grande song his favorite Christmas tune? I mean you can swop any Ariana Grande song with any song by Taylor Swift for example. They both could sing and sell the other ones song perfectly. Why? Because their voices lack of character. There is nothing really unique about it. (And even more today‘s singers sound like clones to me). But George was one of a kind. His voice fits PERFECTLY to every song he wrote. And that’s the same for most singers of the 80s. It was a perfect match between a song and a voice most of the times. And that’s what make songs like Last Christmas so precious.
