Once you live amongst Americans you really realize how SHOCKINGLY mediocre they are

I had seen some videos with Vijay Prashad and he's so calm and "academic" so this is actually a pleasant surprise to see him so animated and cynical. I think based on his immense knowledge and having seen the selfishness, arrogance, and betrayal of the US in the last year have made him boil over. And he hasn't even touched on the US' problem with systemic racism, corruption to the point where they let their people and children get killed by guns for decades, lack of health care, etc. in this speech yet.

I felt more patriotic as a Communist and as a human being during this speech than during the 48 years of life I've lived in the US empire, including my military days. Not only does Comrade Vijay beautifully convey the utter mediocrity of the US government's corporate puppets, but he also mentions the need for the USA to "grow up." I"ve often said that we're the youngest nation on this planet trying to order around elder civilizations like China and India much like a rambunctious adolescent might. And that is not even cracking the iceberg of what this rambunctious adolescent of an empire has done to the most ancient land of Africa in our drive to fatten our national bank account. Now's the time to go beyond just saying that we need a revolution. Now is when we get to figure out HOW to make that revolution happen and what role we each will ultimately play.
