Since its 1984 launch in Michael Dell's dorm , Dell has evolved from a PC maker to a $90 billion in revenue and services in storage, servers, cloud infrastructure and data security. Since then, CEO, Michael Dell has taken his company public, private and then public again as it tried to keep up with changing consumer and business customer needs.
Dell's first IPO happened in 1988 when “Dell Computer Corp.” went public at $8.50 a share with a market capitalization of $85 million. In 1992, Michael Dell became the youngest Fortune 500 CEO at 27. By 2001, Dell had overtaken Compaq as the world’s largest PC maker.
But by 2013, demand for PCs stalled as tablets and smartphones became more popular. Later that year, Michael Dell took the company private. In 2015, Dell purchased data storage company EMC, a deal that still stands as the largest technology acquisition of all time. In 2018, Dell returned to the public markets as Dell Technologies.

My uncle started working as a security guard in a Dell factory and he was intrigued and because obsessed with the computers. He then started learning about computing in his spare time and ended up getting promoted to the assembly line in the same factory. He then climbed the promotion ladders and ended up getting a mega promotion to a job in Texas. It really shows how you can start off small and follow your dreams.

Lazy ass HP engineers never update their drivers, that’s why they are prone to crash problems. That’s what happened to my 2 year old laptop, my Nvidia HP driver keeps on freezing and crashing Windows 10. After 1 year of purchasing the laptop HP finally updated the Nvidia driver, that solved the problem. Now it is freezing and crashing my laptop again, because HP haven’t updated the driver to be compatible with the new Windows 10 build. I can’t use the driver from Nvidia, because HP computers comes with HP proprietary motherboards. You can use the generic Nvidia drivers, but it will crash your system constantly. I know because I tried it before. After this laptop I am switch to Dell or Apple, I will never buy HP’s junk again.

@@dzonikg Lenovo is the worst Laptop company I've ever had, both of their laptops (original & replacement) had serious build quality issues, misplaced speaker, case defects, and the worst part is that they lied to me and refused to refund me. I had to get my credit card company involved so that they could refund me. After 6 months of fighting with them non-stop, they ended up "refunding" me with a prepaid Lenovo card with monthly fees, activation fees, and it cannot be transferred to any account. It could only be used for places that accept the prepaid card.

The only configuration on Dell's page that allows me as much RAM as this seven years old one has is the Alien Ware stuff for ridiculous high prices. The reason why I shifted in the first place was that dell wasn't offering the i7 series with six cores (=> Core i7-3930K, Q4/2011) back then, but to me it was the utter acceptable minimum, and hence I bought me a complete custom design. I was two or three times and their page and was almost enrage with the poor offers. Crap even the Chinese would refuse to sell.

brought a dell laptop had some issues with it(was over heating beyond measure reaching upto 100 degree while gaming) asked for support got the whole heatsink, fans and thermal paste replaced but it again started to heat after a week of good enough performance so i again contacted them and got a replacement without any issue (actually i was asking for repasting only (with a better paste) but the agent himself suggested me to go with the whole system replacement instead ) and now this new lappi that i received is amazing doesn't go even above 85 degree while stress testing and like near 75-80 degree while gaming .........this is far better than what i imagined..great after sale service...........loved them for that

As a solutions consumer who has dealt with many suppliers and vendors I can tell you that Dell is at the top of my list. The main reason? One word: support. Unparalleled AFAIC. Domestically located techs and engineers who know their business and have saved my a-S$ on more than one occasion! And Dell stuff is quality. I'm still recycling Dell Servers that are 10+ years old where hardware is needed, and my Hyper-V clusters are rock solid with newer Dell servers as the hosts. Google's motto was "Don't be Evil" - not sure that worked out so well. If Dell's motto were "Don't sell Crap", they'd still be living up to that standard.

That Computer is like 7 years old not really a proof that Dell is alive and well, In fact the point of this video is the PC market is declining, the fact that you're using a 7 year old machine is a great example of this, Dell's biggest focus these days is enterprise hardware not consumer PC.

My very first desktop replacement was an Alienware before they merge with Dell. After the desktop replacement went to crap and not willing to invest more money into it, I went with my first Dell desktop pc, the Dell XPS 400, and this was during the merge between the two companies. Not a bad pc. The Dell pc was bought in 2002 and is still working to this day. It had it’s time, but I decided one day to build a new computer with a new tower, motherboard, etc. in order to keep up with more demanding games.

This is really weird. Dell broke IBM's monopoly of the PC by "three-rooming" the bios and coming up with the first bios that could survive an IBM copyright claim. It destroyed IBM as a PC maker. IBM would try to fight back with the PS2, but their licensing was still straight out of the dark ages so it bombed. Apple was a bystander in all this.
