Assuming he would not be satisfied with the present state of Germany being a European powerhouse and all, he would just repeat what he did in the 1920s: Keep a low profile, slowly gather followers, and rise to power by addressing issues modern Germans are not satisfied with. People like to think that a man like him would never rise to power again but you got to remember he was considered a hero back in the early 1930s due to his policies. Granted enough people are dissatisfied with the government, he would easily adapt and convince people to think he is a hero once again.

@@holly-lb3ps But it wasn't his goal to make Poland lose it's independence per se. He just wanted to expand Germany and make the "Lebensraum". And he lived in the moment when he lost Poland. I don't think that it would bother him to find out that now Poland is indepentend instead of being under Soviet control. Existance of Isreael (maybe) wouldn't make him mad either, because the nazis themselves had plans to deport jews to a separate place for jews (their plan was on Madagascar). But when they lost the battle for Britain, they abandoned this plan and adopted the infamous cruel one.

Some have come far and others have regressed, especially since the 80s and Reagan/Tatcher/Zia ul Haq/Modi. Italy has gone back to ACTUAL Nazis recently. Afghanistan of all places used to be progressive in the 60s and 70s before the Soviet invasion. Russia has now turned to Fascism under Putin from being kind of good after the Soviet Union ended. In many ways, the world socially has gone back. Also technology, especially Machine Learning is very much responsible for this as trying to optimize for engagement makes extreme content rise to the top on sites like UKposts and Facebook and discrimination in stuff like loans or prison sentences is automated (look up Weapons of Math Destruction by Cathy O'Neil)

Well , most of them would celebrate not having segregation at home, there nations free from being European colonies, the scourge of fascism and communism gone, the ability to love who ever they want. The advancement of modern medicine wiping out many diseases they and there ancestors fell victim too. Oh, and there hasn’t been any more wars to the scale those soldiers fought in 70 years, killing off generations of young men. Who from the 1940s wouldn’t love this time period?

Living in the 21st century is vastly better then the world of the 1940s We have all this technology, a live and let live culture (well, in the west at least), decent living standards across the developed world, ect. Sure, you might feel insignificant, but that’s how it always has been. We’re all just tiny characters in the story of the world.

The book "Look Who's Back" by Timur Vermus first published in GB in 2014 tells the full story, it has also been turned into a film. It's an excellent read and a provocative story that makes you ask questions of yourself.

As a German, it is fine. So North Rhine-Westphalia and Berlin are probably the most criminal states but also the most liberal, while Bavaria would probably be the most acceptable for many but would also be conservative, but safe. In addition, more and more people are becoming diffident and going to the left or right extreme. And you will certainly hear a couple times that people don't like/appreciate the democracy we have in Germany at the moment

It does not mean there isn't a consequence for what you say. You can't yell "fire" in a crowded theater You can't paint hate symbols around town You can't use hateful slurs against people. Maybe you should go back and look further into what's allowed and what isn't allowed instead of thinking you can say what you want without consequences

One German TV channel made a comedy, what if special called: "Er Ist Zurück!" (He Is Back). It covered the same theme but more out of the sight of him. I as a German have not seen it but a Friend of mine did and he said it was quite funny. I think I'll watch it sometime and I hope that it is also available in English.
