The Los Angeles Lakers are set to take on the Denver Nuggets in Round 1 this Saturday. They were swept in the Western Conference Finals last season and are seeking revenge but what would happen if they lose in 4 or a gentleman's sweep? Colin Cowherd explains why there is a lot at stake for LeBron James and the Lakers. Meanwhile, the 2024 NFL Draft is just around the corner and some mock drafts have Denver's football team, the Broncos, selecting a QB at No. 12 such as Bo Nix. However, the team will reportedly not 'force' drafting one. Colin discusses what Sean Payton will and should do with a Top 15 pick.

No championship-level professional athlete would ever "duck." Such a bad take by Colin and he keeps doubling down on stupid. He also extrapolates hypothetical off-season scenarios like he's a GM in the NBA. So annoying. If the Lakers want to win it all they need to beat Denver. You play to win the game. Play them now with no fear. Ducking is such a weak move and a horrible take. If you lose you lose. Tip your hat and get ready for next year like a man. Lebron ain't going to Golden State Colin, just stop. And Lakers management will re-evaluate their roster regardless as they do every year. 6 Championships in the last 23 seasons for FS.

Why does everyone keep talking about the Lakers getting Trae Young? How does he move the needle in a series vs. Denver? He doesn't. He's the biggest defensive liability in the entire league. The last thing the Lakers need is an undersized, ball dominant, defensive liable, 40 million a year point guard.

Colin, Trae Young is not helpful. It’s shocking that you think that he will help. Trae Young will never win a championship. Not only will he not be a no 1 or no 2 on a championship team. He will never be a number 3 or 4 on a championship team. He can put up stats, but his game does not contribute to winning. He turns the ball over too much and he cannot play defense. If Lebron is going to win he needs a guys who can do everything Trae can do, but more efficiently. Plus better decision making and defense.

That Lebron story was one of the worst takes I’ve heard. I’d much rather face Denver first when you have the most rest between games. Get rid of the most challenging match first. It doesn’t matter who Lebron loses to it’s going to be the same outcome given his age. There’s no glory in losing later in the playoffs rather than first when he’s going to be 40 this year and isn’t playing much longer
