Islamic State Khorasan (Isis-K), named after an old term for the region that included parts of Iran, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan, emerged in eastern Afghanistan in late 2014 and quickly established a reputation for extreme brutality. The latest atrocity, targeting concertgoers in Moscow that left over 130 people dead, serves to reinforce Isis-K’s stated commitment to the broader global jihadist agenda of Isis.

Russia is defending the Palestiniens and other Muslim countries’ interests in the UN and in other political arenas. If the the ISIS militants are the real islamists, they know it’s a PR suicidal to attack someone who defends your owns. But what is strange is the ISIS seems reluctant to attack those who are oppressing Musulman people. They always there for power struggle with other Islamist groups, but they never attack their “common adversaries”. What was last time you heard them attacking “the chosen ones”?

Russia has a long history of fighting Islamists. They were one of the nations that fought the most wars against the Ottomans. They also fought Islamists in their Chechen province who wanted to establish a caliphate. There have also been many terrorist attacks by the Mujahideen in Russia. For example: Beslan school siege, 2012 Makhachkala attack, December 2013 Volgograd bombings, 2014 Grozny bombings, 2017 St. Petersburg metro bombings, etc.

This terrifies me, i have family in Mindanao and my town was 6-8 hrs away from marawi city, that was attacked by ISIS. I remember my relatives said after the ISIS was cornered they went on a flee and the neighboring town was put into blockage by the military as some remaining terrorist attempting hide.

Soldier is a man of fighting age, equipped with weapon and knowledge to participate in warfare, who protects his country and enforce its will and interest. Mostly voluntary. Can you spot the difference between a soldier and random let's say unarmed 16 yo girl attending the rock band show? Also there was never that much "hundreds of thousands" to die in Ukraine in the first place, but I agree, Russia has to declare full-scale mobilization and send few mil troops. 300-400k doing well for now yet too slow.
