As an Icelander, I love my Nordic cousins. It's just so comfy belonging to this large, yet small family that the Nordic countries are. We give each other a hard time like siblings are supposed to do but we love each other and we're fiercely protective of each other, and there is a sense of security in that. Love this unique bond that the Nordic countries have.

For those who are suprised by how harsly they can joke about one another I think it is important to understand that the bond between nordic countries today is very strong, more between some countries then others, due to a long shared history, the closeness in culture, language, social norms etc etc. It is sometimes almost like the bond between siblings who love eachother but still fight and pick on one another. If you google you can for example find long lists of norweigan jokes about swedes and vice versa. It's just fun and games and the humor we can have with one another! But I understand if it can sound harsh since not all nations have the same sort of bond to another/other countries and that it can be unfamiliar to some viewers. Edit: Thanks for all the likes! ❤😊

After visiting Finland, I must say that it is probably the Finnish people who differs mostly among each Nordic Nation in terms of personality characteristics. That is why I like them much: they are special, like came from another planet or at least from The Lord of the Rings as elf like creatures:)

Iceland: The long time separated sibling that finally got in touch Norway: The rich laidback younger brother Sweeden: The gay older brother, who parties a lot and is slightly snobby Denmark: The perfect sweet and lovely younger sister Finland: The funny uncle who drinks way to much alcohol, but still remains chill and nice

I'm italian and I just can't help being jealous over the bond nordic countries share. Honestly you look so cool, everything look so cool! We have this prejudice here in southern Europe that nordic people are really cold and detached but I'm surprised you really look friendly and sociable and that makes me want to come there so bad ! Yeah we are like a family. We are siblings that "hate" each other but would do anything and everything for each other if that was required. Sweden being the oldest and most normal/bland, Denmark being that weird twin of Norway who does things their way, Norway being the rich sibling who is way to happy and we others are secretly jealous and then we have Finland who feels like a step sibling who doesn't say much but we love Finland anyways.

As a Russian I have met Norwegians(very open and nice people to talk to) and Finns(honest and helpful) liked those very much.

I like how honest they are. Like they don’t care about being politically correct and nobody seems to get super offended, which is so uncommon nowadays.

From a British perspective, i'd say Norway is a VERY proud country whose people pride themselves on their independence and self sufficiency. Ok, you could say the same about Finland, but Norwegians like to remind you more that they are so. They have no need to be members of the EU (even though they have to follow alot of the rules!). Norwegians are very self assured people, maybe they don't suffer fools gladly, and they are also very conservative with a small 'c', and uber traditional! The thing I find weird about Norwegians (being an Englishman) is that they make so much out of 'having to go to church at Christmas' and getting all their kids Baptised and Confirmed - yet many Norwegians don't go to church for most of the year! Of all the Nordic nations, Norway has the most stunning scenery - and perhaps only Canada and New Zealand can compete with them here (ok, I forgot Switzerland!). But Norwegians seem to be 'built for snow'. They are the ultimate 'winter sports' country. Everyone there seems to do ' cross country skiing'. Norwegians are also quite 'reserved' I think. Not many countries kids' learn to ski and skate when they're three. Btw, my brother lives in Norway, and can speak the language fluently. So this is from first hand experience. Hence why I have more to say about Norway and Norwegians than other Nordic nations. Danes and Swedes are in general more outgoing than Norwegians. The Danes remind me of the Welsh I think. That's not meant to be a bad thing. Swedes strike me as being more 'open minded' peoples than Norwegians, and probably also Danes. The Danish maybe are more vocal than other Nordic countries. Finland reminds me of Ireland abit. Massive wide open interior with virtually no towns. I don't know but perhaps Finns have a different sense of humour than other Nordic nations - abit like the Irish! Am I right in thinking that all the other Nordic countries think the Finns are a little 'weird'?! Perhaps this is because they're not Scandi, but are Nordic. Yes, I think there's a difference here. I got scolded once by a Finn for saying they were Scandi! ...I was quickly corrected........'we're Nordic yes, but not Scandi'. I was somewhat confused by this statement as I naively thought 'Nordic' and 'Scandi' were the same thing, or interchangeable. Now I know that's not the case! Norway - does winter sports like no other country. Air that is so clean that my British lungs can't handle it! Sweden - does modern furniture like no other country. Epitomises the 'scandi' living style. Denmark - does the best beer, and are most like the British. Don't know if this a bad thing or not! Finland - has the best lakes.....no. I didn't mention fjords - they're inlets with sea water. Best classical music culture. So many Finns can play musical instruments - v impressive. Iceland - most 'elemental' of all the Nordic people. Nature is interwoven into all Icelandic people. Perhaps they have the best connection with nature Estonia - not sure if this is 'allowed' to be part of the Nordic group, but get the impression Estonians are keen to be. Most like the Finns, but I could be wrong. These are my observations and views. Sorry, if some appear very stereotypical. As I said they're just my own observations. Not set in stone!

I lived in Sweden and worked in Denmark, so I had to travel every day. I would say that I really liked Denmark, but the way I felt after coming to Sweden cannot be described. For me as a foreigner Sweden is so AMAZING place and my heart left there. Even that Danmark was beauty also, there is something so special about Sweden that make me feel inlove and like home.

As a big fan of Nordic, I really enjoyed this one. But I would love to see the dating culture differences among all these 5 Nordic countries as well. :-)
