What a great time Brad and such nice people you get to detect with. The camaraderie between metal detectorists is a fine example of how to treat people.

Ditto!!

About 35 years ago I was detecting an old home site on a hilltop. After finding dozens of 1800's coins that could not have been dropped by the family, turns out there was a carnival there at some point.
@HundeDomenicoРік тому
I really appreciate to see such an honest and humble gratefulness from your side towards the 2 inviting you and i like your calm and collected attitude towards this hobby.
@michaeldespirito9595Рік тому
Must be an old trading post . Had to be an awful lot of foot traffic through that area
@WarrenhFryeРік тому
Maybe an inn
@alphabravo7366Рік тому
There must’ve been a tavern or shop or train station or something right there for you to find all that and it’s so close to those houses.
@impunitythebagpussРік тому
Stagecoach stopover?
@kathyprecek5462Рік тому
With all those buttons, it may have been the site of a tailor's establishment. A really great hunt! Your videos are striking! Thank you for sharing!
@MrHaighahatta11 місяців тому
Were it just the buttons and a few coins, I'd guess a homestead that had burned down. Given the clay soil, most iron/nails would've long rusted away.
@burnheretic3950Місяць тому
I would guess a gathering place of some kind. Maybe church or place for events. People wore buttons all over their clothes back then. So they fell off alot.
@sergehorion7155Рік тому
Helllo Brad. Congrats for this nice addition to your collection. Your bucket list coin form New-Jersey is dated from the same year as my house, as engraved on the stone above my main entry door. In 1786, France was still a monarchy under the reign of Louis the 16th (beheaded in 1793) represented on the french coin found by one of your hosts. Through my house, this long past history is not so far away from me.
@johnnydoe66Рік тому
Like many other comments are saying, I would like to think that this location must have been where a trading post, tavern, or even a lodge, maybe all three where located. Such a large variety of treasures for you all to find, especially with the different coins and buttons. It would seem odd for just a single family structure, because they would have been a very careless to have lost so much.
@McChristerРік тому
I would agree on perhaps a tavern….Too drunk to even care about belongings, stumbling out of the place, getting into fistfights ripping each other’s clothes and I can go on and on….Take care! Greetings from Canada 😉👋🏼🇨🇦
@johnnydoe66Рік тому
@McChrister I didn't even consider that with a tavern. Some of the patrons would have been too drunk to care or notice they lost anything. Throw in some fighting it out, money would be lost, and their clothing torn.
@McChristerРік тому
@@johnnydoe66 Ikr! Just thought about a bunch of drunks on how they behave in taverns…They do still exist in Canada and are usually visited by Low-Lifes! LoL😂👋🏼🇨🇦
@joesinakandid528Рік тому
Or a tavern / cat house/

Welcome back for spring detecting, Brad-have missed you detecting all winter!!
@Homebrew58Рік тому
Here in the middle of Michigan if you see a hill like that in the middle of a field or in the woods it is very often an Indian burial mound. There is a farm nearby with a big mound in the middle of the field and the kids in this area used to go out there right after the farmer plowed looking for arrow heads that had been unearthed.
@justforever96Рік тому
Hills are the norm here. And arrowheads are rare now.
@patty4091Рік тому
Thanks guys for the invite, I’ve been waiting for some good detecting to start! Nice finds Brad, you need to do this more often!
@Brando_MagnificoРік тому
Congratulations on the Jersey! We would love to see your state coppers together when you complete the collection. Your soil is kind for sure. Keep up the good work. Congrats to Tom and Phil as well. Hope to see more from those guys
@mrbuckaroobonzaiРік тому
I live in South Texas and there is not much history around here except cactus and mesquite. I have always enjoyed watching your videos Brad, they get your attention. I sit here and watch with awe as you pull coin after coin from the 1700's and 1800's!! Amazing finds and artifacts, just shaking my head saying WOW!! I have been detecting for close to 40 yrs and have never found a land coin in the 1700's, I have found a Spanish old world Silver 8 Reales COB couldn't verify date but pre 1621. Philip II or III, but never an old land coin under 1800. Good hunt day for you guys, nice honey hole!! In my opinion it looks like a stage stop or tavern was there, I have detected stage stops down here and lots of early 1800's coins and buttons. Excellent Brad, take care and see you on the next hunt

@ChaisetheaviatorРік тому
I subbed, this guy seems cool. A lot of kids grow up with an idea of wanting to become a treasure hunter and many of those kids myself included don’t grow out of it.

@Treasure-ChargerРік тому
Congratulations on your NJ Copper and all of your finds, Brad! Nice finds for the other fellas as well. Thanks for sharing the day's fun with us!
@lindamesa5122Рік тому
There must have been some kind of annual fair or farmers markets where many people gathered because the coins are from different times and there are so many! That first song sounded new ! Nice catchy tune !
@granddad-mv5efРік тому
A great way to start the season! Honestly, a dream day.
@bobmanzi7712Рік тому
Friday the BEST day of the week. Great stuff Brad thanks
@helenalderson6608Рік тому
Looks like one of the businesses must've been a tailor or seamstress with all of those thimbles and buttons
@buddyhenson2559Рік тому
Awesome video and finds! It’s so exciting to see relics like that coming out of the ground with modern houses and vehicles in the background!! A great hobby for sure!

What awesome finds! Great that you found a bucket list. Thanks for sharing this video
@stevebrown8517Рік тому
Great hunt Brad! I’m a little jealous because I don’t find the really old stuff here in NW Ohio😊
@jens.9155Рік тому
Good to see you. What a cool place. The finds and the dates could have a lot to with history of this country: wars, battlefields, etc, maybe a loot that got dropped and dispersed through the years. ❤
@brianwalker9185Рік тому
What a day. Great intro music....and at the end.
@twofeathersnmiРік тому
That very well could be an old trading post. You know they would have parties outside and moonshine was in the mix so there is the reason you were finding French and English coins.
@randywaite4573Рік тому
Great finds. I look forward to seeing your channel each week. Great content excellent music and camera work. From finds to nature even the results of mother nature you do a great job and the speculation of what happened in each area makes your vids worth seeing each week. Is it possible that this area was a Tavern or roadside coach stop. To find such a variety of items seems that their were travelers in the area. In my area their was a coach stop that is no longer attainable as it is now owned by a quarry company but many such finds like what you had found were at this site. Congrats on your finds and keep the vids coming.
@stevengolfsРік тому
I’d guess that the property may have been a tavern or stopping point for travelers that may have camped on the property, which would account for the variety of coins and buttons.
@EZDigginРік тому
That's one heck of a permission!!! Congrats on the Jersey state copper.
@colbyt9967Рік тому
That button is a General Service Eagle Button. Definitely American Civil War made by Scovill button co or Waterbury Button Co. Wow surprised you found that here in Vermont. I'm from Central Vermont. Would love to go detecting with you sometime Brad. Keep up the good work!! Im an avid Civil War , Revolutionary War, and military relic collector and Civil War reenactor in the Vermont Civil War Hemlocks living history.
@montananative2414Рік тому
I loved the intro music and of course the video! Thanks for posting Brad.

Nicely done, Brad. A video that’s worthy of such a memorable day. Already looking forward to our next adventure!
@KidDigРік тому
Man oh man ohhhhh man!!! What a dream day!!! I just completed an overnight hunt with high expectations and came back with 74 clad coins, and one wheat cent 😢. What it must be like to pull that kind of history from the dirt?! Awesome to live the adventure through my laptop - thanks for all you do for the hobby Brad.
@MD-NWWIРік тому
Congrats on the bucket lister! Coins of that age are only a dream for me! But for the most part, my area was settled in the 1850s. My oldest coin so far is a 1865 Indian head cent i found last week. You and a couple others have inspired me to start making videos. More as a vlog than entertaining the world. I'll leave that up to the pros
@daveflowers3070Рік тому
Aye, that beat at the intro went hard! I love it.....
@johnlea8519Рік тому
Glad you had a great day.

@jakartajamie4880Рік тому
Possibly a stagecoach area, definitely a trade depo. Thank you so much for bringing us along…
@tillmansomethinrother8649Рік тому
Possibly a seamstress lived in that house. That many buttons. And they constantly dropped their coins. Awesome hunt for y'all.
@guru6725Рік тому
Kinda what I was thinking too. You could get your buttons replaced, probably any kind of tailoring, and the holes in your pockets sewn up. Although maybe a bit too late for some on the latter.
@richardthomas1743Рік тому
HEY! Gooooood morning everybody and thumbs UP to Brad Martin!

First chords off that national steel, just hit me in the gut. Love,love,love that sound. 30 years ago, in Ludlow a local played that. He knew ,I would be asking for a short set on the national.

@kathylincoln8917Рік тому
Such an amazing day of treasure hunting. Thank you for bringing us along
@masterofcents.8175Рік тому
My thoughts on the coins and on how many there are is that it was probably a stash that ended up getting spread around by farming.
@steveclark4291Рік тому
The Eagle button is I believe a general button that was worn by everyone that wasn't Artillery or Infantry in the Civil War !
@robbaker629Рік тому
