an NDA is the contract to not speak. Separately there is hush money to get the person to sign the NDA. But neither are the crime here since hush money is legal. He forged his accounting to mark the hush money payment as for legal services (Misdemeanor). Worse, the money was in an effort to not have the issue come up in the 2016 campaign, which means it's considered part of the campaign finances, which he can't use this way and brings it to a Felony charge.

@@jojeeka - Hahah, no. No accounting firm would take Trump (notice the multiple charges with him doctoring books), he did his accounting in-house, e.g. Allen Wieselberg. Trump declared they were for legal fees. And they weren't. I know you have big feelings about Trump but just so you know, Clinton and the DNC were fined $100k to settle their similar issue with the FEC for the Steele Dossier. Trump may also only get a fine but this isn't a settlement so the penalty can be higher.
