The book 2001, and the movie were written at the same time thus creating two drastically different versions. The book did inspire parts but that’s because Kubrick and the writer were in more conversation towards the beginning, yet as the book was being written and the movie being made at the same time the middles and endings began to shift.

Okay... I live up in the northern north north Europe. Last week there was a monolith in the woods (now this was on the news, i didnt experience it) nearby. A man out on his stroll came across this and shot a pic of it. He sent the pic to one of his colleagues who lived close to this place. She was thrilled and 4 hours later she went to shoot a pic of it as well. Gone. The monolith was gone. A sold, huge monolith. Like...WHAT?!

I know the photographer who saw the men taking it down in Utah!! She said they came in the dark with pick axes ( I think) , shovels, and a wheelbarrow. They took it down and as they were leaving, they turned and told her "Leave no trace" which is so gd badass 🤣
