Ron takes a step back into the cold war era to visit a 1960 Atlas E missile silo in Wyoming that is for sale to determine if it would make a good community prepper site for up to 500 people from the Denver area. Interested parties can contact the owner at kolby57@hotmail.com.

Need Dehumidifiers. That will solve two issues. It will remove the dampness from the air, thus keeping your canned food from rusting and damaging the cans. The second issue remedied, you're collecting water that you can make potable.

That access to the basement is the coolest part!! I would cover the blast door entrance with dirt that contoured to the hill itself. And then, use a heavy duty bullet proof gun safe as the pantry door and another inside the pantry to access the basement. So even if they make it past the first one, you have a redundancy. No way anyone would get through one of the heaviest gun safe door money can buy. I wouldn't even make the house fancy looking. Just kept up nice and set up inside the house part with average furniture and everything so there would be no give away that there is something underground. Just so your guests wouldn't know about it unless you told them. Something like this would be millions and millions of dollars to construct. Such an amazing place! Special thanks to the home owner and a massive thanks for sharing this Ron!

The humidity would have been taken care of by the sites environmental equipment during the operations of the site. The cans of food there now as seen could have been better protected from the moisture if the current owners installed a de- humidifier where they stored that food. I'm positive it would all most likely be edible if opened now. You'd just need to clean the outer contamination off of them. ALWAYS BE PREPARED

Patriots: Surviving the Coming Collapse, by James Wesley is a great book about doing just that. Great read. @EricSmiley, thanks for the suggestion, I'll take a look at Cannibal Reign.

@@sgt_retiredcharlie4102 Patriots is an excellent book, JWR knocked it out of the park with that one.

Personally, I wouldn't eat the canned food. I wouldn't risk getting botulism. I'd replace with freeze-dried food and stick a few humidifiers in there.

It makes me laugh when you see a 25kw generator with all those batteries and it looks so small due to the vastness of the space! Holly cow that place would be mine it we had the FU money! 👍🇺🇸

Any cans of Big John's Beans and Fixins down there? Can't get that anymore and I'd pay for a few cans!

was thinking about the ruskies frantically taking notes and screen shots right about now, but i then remembers the tv show called 'the americans' & if that's anything to go by i bet russian spies were shown around the silos on the same day they went live. if you've not seen the show i can tell you that its well worth a watch

There's no need. Uniformed Soviet soldiers already visited all these silos in person, and US troops did the same with Soviet silos. You know, inspection.

The facility needs some type of central A/C just for dehumidification. A drier environment might help the place feel warmer and prevent rust. I wish I had a can of Dinty Moore right now. I also noticed the entry 40 ton door retaining walls showed signs of spalling. Those walls are well on the way to failure...sometime...unless they are repaired now.

I so wish I could afford what you sell. Although I’m a nurse my budget just doesn’t help with thing I’ll know I’ll eventually need. Thanks for helping those who can afford what you have to sell.

As long as the tops aren't popped up it's still good. Should build some roller shelves to keep the oldest cans being eaten first and the newest cans being stocked from behind. It will give a 2 layer per can or up to 4. If it's a front fill than have a bar across to kep anyone from picking the new cans.
