theres plenty of interviews of Lorne Michaels out there. I find over the years, his voice gets deeper, but the ummmmmmmm.... is the most consistent part of any impression. Dana Carvey invented the Lorne impression, thats what makes this more important than ever.

To me, I think a good impression is more about mannerisms than the voice itself. That's why so many people can do a decent Christopher Walken. They act like him, and the voice comes naturally.

Dana Carvey was a guest speaker at a company I worked at in the early 90s. I laughed for an hour straight my stomach seriously was in pain. Funniest guy ever, he's brilliant. (Robin Williams was wonderful, but didn't always care for the anatomical humor. I used to see him occasionally at another job I had...)

Dana Carvey was definitely the first one doing the Lorne Michaels impression in the mid 80s, before Mike Myers was even on the "frickin" show, and Dana even invented the pinky up to the corner of his mouth. Nobody did that impression to the tee like Dana did, he was the first. Mike Myers flat out jacked Dana's impression. It's the same exact voice, the same enunciation, the pinky, but Carvey was a good guy about it and never made it a big thing.

It's amazing to hear like 4-5 different characters in each impression. So many voices blended into one! Jimmy should get impersonations that he doesn't normally do so he can challenge himself!
