@2Fast4Mellow
@2Fast4Mellow 9 місяців тому
At the same time, he managed to win with a lead of 33 seconds over P2, which is his previous number, so that somewhat negates the issue. When looking at Max's performance last year at Spa, it's difficult to imagine him not achieving his 45th win (8th in a row, 13th for RBR) unless there are car issues or a crash...

To me that is the difference with Max and Red Bull this year. They just don’t seem to make mistakes. Look at how many mistakes Perez had made and the impact it had, and Ben driving the same car for the same team. He literally might lose his seat because of mistakes.

Nico is a bright spark. He won his championship, made enough money for the rest of his life, went into early retirement. No more stress, no more risks to his health in a racing car, all the time in the world to do what he wants, when he wants, where he wants. Enjoying time with his family while still being able to travel to races. A really good move. In his position, I think that I would've done exactly the same. There's more to life than Formula One.

Maybe it is because I like to think this, but Schumacher getting emtional when reminded of Senna had not so much to do with matching his number of wins, but rather with Schumacher still feeling the pain of losing a fellow driver on track. That was what was the significance of that moment. I remember Häkkinen getting emotional as well.
@Karma2Babylon
@Karma2Babylon 9 місяців тому
You’re probably right but I think some of that emotion was also a pressure release after an intense series of races where Mika had pushed him hard not just at Monza but the previous races in Hungary when Mika zapped him off the start and just disappeared, and then that famous race in Belgium. Michael simply had to break Mika’s run which he did with an inch perfect, mistake free win. Win 41 (equaling Senna) and the reporter’s question brought it all together enough for him to crack.
@nahoka4378

I think that the RB19 is only a dominant car for a handful of drivers because I imagine that it's a very difficult car to drive. I'd say Fernando, Lewis, and obviously Max have the sheer raw talent and experience to tame that beast and extract the most of it. I would love to see a showdown between those legends

if this if that nonsense bla bla bla yall are too unrealistic, Lewis are locked in Merc & Fernando have 2/3 more years in him to race on top level. Lewis doesn't have the balls to leave Merc as he knew it would be harder to beat Max in the RB so either he likes it or not Lewis have to stay at Merc & finger cross next year his team closes the gap. I love Fernando but the current refined version of Verstappen is different cattle of fish to play with, in same car especially in qualifying he'll get destroyed by Max no contest

I doubt Lewis could tame a Red Bull car. He is very peculiar with his preference and couldn't handle car that is on the extremes. Besides Lewis and Max have very different driving style. Max, as stated by Alex, is prefers an extreme nose sensitivity. Even Alex who claimed that he also like sensitive nose struggles with Max setup. Max also like some rear end movement. Multiple drivers (Alex, Pierre, and Checo) couldn't deliver results anywhere near close to Max. Lewis is more confident with a stable car. High downforce aero that can turn the cars into fast corners as if it is on the rails. Mercedes car are more tame given how many drivers could match-up Lewis in performance. Nico Rosberg beat him in equal machinery, Valterri was often right behind him both in both quali and in races, and George Russell almost won during his first Mercedes stint as Lewis reliever showing how Mercedes car's are far more easier to drive.

You cant hate Nico, especially after his championship season. He proved that he can be up there if he wanted too against all the management from Mercedes who wanted Lewis to win. The rivalry between him and Hamilton has yet to be seen, not even Webber & Vettel can come close. Respect this man, he deserves it! What helped him was the unbelievable form from Mercedes so Toto Walff decided to give green light to the drivers as Mercedes was the Constructors Champion with 5-6 races to go. That season was an epic season.. will always remember

Same here. Monza 2008 in a freakin torro rosso. I must confess, I was one of those bucketheads that thought he was all double diffuser and blown exhaust from the front. Then he went to Ferrari and in his 1st season pulled off 3 wins that weren’t flukey wins, just driving perfection and that’s when he really went up in my estimation. He would have/should’ve won in 2018, but it seems he let the combination of Hamilton and a creeping distrust in his team to get into his head, and from Singapore onwards he was toast. And strangely, he never recovered after that. One of the greats- in my book

@@deano8875 So after nearly half of the racing year and Perez still cannot adapt enough. What an excuse? Max is simply a better driver than Perez. How can you explain the poor performance of Perez in rain? Red Bull definitely has not designed the car to fit Max's driving style in rain. In comparing, Mercedes also designed their cars according to Hamilton's driving style. Did Rosberg or Bottas perform as erratic as Perez?

Lewis will continue until he's got the 8th title under his belt. And if the car is in a dominant place he'll continue for another year after that.

The sacking of De Vries was harsh, but Marko is playing high-level chess here. Red Bull had several concerns about the performance of the AT04 car - was it the car or the drivers not performing up to par? Even Tsunoda is still relatively new in his 3rd season. At the same time, both De Vries and Perez were underperforming. Nobody knew what to expect from Ricciardo - would he be the 2018 Ricciardo or the struggling 2022 version fighting not to finish last? They also have Lawson in the waiting room hoping for a seat. The De Vries/Ricciardo switch is going to create many questions and possible solutions for Marko: 1. They can evaluate Ricciardo - if he doesn't outperform Tsunoda, he's out for good and they bring in Lawson. 2. If Ricciardo does perform exceptionally, he might be a suitable replacement for Perez if he keeps struggling. 3. This switch also allows them to assess Tsunoda's performance because De Vries was expected to lead the team, not Tsunoda. However, with 2 P10 finishes and 3 times P11, I think he's safe for now. 4. With an experienced F1 driver, they can properly evaluate the AT04 car, which could lead to a much-improved 2024 car

Max says he doesnt care about the records and in some way i believe him as hes content with what hes achieved. On the other hand i think your motivation is to get your first points, to get your first podium, to get your first race win and to become champion. What comes after that? Whats your motivation then? Records is all thats left to aim for.

Lets be real and honest, I don't think anyone will catch RedBull since it is so ahead, we have not even seen a true pace RB19 even once. With that said, you have to remember, no one actually caught up to Mercedes, Mercedes was hindered and nerfed year after year, even in mid seasons. So I don't see anyone catching RedBull without same thing happening to RedBull. RedBull is hiding their true pace nicely, otherwise F1 really would have to do something as they did in previous years, even going way way back before Mercedes success.

Don't forget ........... RB brought major upgrades to Hungary, which clearly negatively effected their RB's car setup for qualifying. During the race, Max managed to control the race from the front and then effortlessly etched out a 33 second lead by the end of the race.
