So I never addressed her directly for several years. My friend has never moved out of his parent's home and when I was in my late 20s going over it was always kind of awkward. It's like a second set of parents but you're not that close but you're treated like a kid and an adult at the same time even though you have no idea what the rules are and when my buddy's dad would walk away to go do something you're wondering if it's because you're boring or if you too should be leaving because the conversation is over but his mom is still trying to be friendly and talk to you so you don't want to be rude and leave but you feel like you should. Actually, I have a second friend in the same situation and it's exactly the same going over to his place.
