Beautiful delivery of such tragic truth, love this! Truthfully, it is Tom's genuine love for others that makes him Superman to a lot of us. It's almost hard to put in words, but the acoustic accompanied by his raspy or textured voice gives off a comforting feeling when you realize what the lyrics are conveying if that makes sense. Every line in this song is powerful, but the most powerful line to me is " I hope you had dreams come true, I hope what they see in the crosshairs is what I see in you" Tom has such a beatiful spirit. Tom is an incredibly versatile artist, and no matter what music-genre he chooses to express himself in he always delivers profound truths. I love the visual-art of Nova for this video. It was as simple and basic as the song, but it also delivered as strong of a visual-message as the song's lyrical message. Tom and Nova are an incredible team, and I love how they constantly support and lift each other up as artists. The pause followed by the BOOM in the song sent a chill up my spine.

I may be reading too much into things, but i thought the beauty of EotW was that the lyrics talked about our own part in the end of the world, but the visuals were alien attack. Loved this reaction. Tom has an older song called “I Don’t Care” - I don’t think you’ve reacted to it. I just wanted to mention it to you & suggest it as a future reaction for 2 reasons: First, it’s an underrated song in my opinion. But, second, I’ve always loved the video & would really love to hear what you notice about it. There’s a beautiful simplicity to it - but there’s some movement in it too, so it’s not as simple as “Superman.” In it, Tom’s reflecting on his own journey, looking back on past struggles & struggles that he thought he’d be able to leave behind but wasn’t able too. Something about certain brief shots in the ‘I Don’t Care’ video have always seemed to me to capture & convey anxiety - I don’t know how Nova did it, or if I’m just imagining it though. The colors are muted & give the video a very somber vibe. I think she probably used several techniques to create the mood, but I’ve never been able to identify most of them. Just something to consider. Thanks!💗

I loved the imagery of Superman being used here. For me, he's my favourite Superhero: and for the same reasons that you listed why he's not yours. He's ultimately good, and supremely powerful, and utterly unbeatable - even with his few weaknesses, he's able to get around them due to his (again) overwhelming intelligence. Superman is the purest "Super-hero" version of the Christ-Myth that is played out in most stories. The "Supreme Power" or "Supreme Good" coming in to save the day. The Superman story takes it almost beat for beat from Scripture: Kal-EL is sent to Earth by his father, Jor-El's only son. He passes AS a human... yet does not take sides, tries to help and save everyone. Pure. Power. Good. So that line hits hard for me: "Where is Superman?" It gets to the heart of the Christ-Myth that is now in most stories (especially Comics and the like). It's the cry for aid from the Highest of Powers. Really, with the situation we are in - and the world has been in since the very beginning - only such a "Sentient Power" can stop us from being evil to each other.
