Japanese depends a lot on context regarding if you're talking in first, second or third person, and that's something that Google Translate messes up *a lot* 😅 4:12 In this case, going by the context of Hitomi's dialogue, she's talking about the ghost girl in third person. In the part that she talks about the building, basically she first says that in that building, you'll encounter "it" referring to the ghost girl. Then in the spiky pink speech bubble she says you'll encounter "it" when you reach the second floor. And in the purple bubble below it, she says you can only encounter her once. Finally, in the big text under that, she says "I wonder what that girl could be?" So basically, she doesn't know either 😅

I think the joke kinda continues in Pokémon Masters EX: when you bond with Hex Maniac Helena/Sayoko, you talk with her about "recent urban legends" but then the real Helena shows up. Who were you talking to...? You turn around and nobody is there. It must have been Ghost Girl Hitomi(since she's want properly localized).

The ghost girl, was actually a Gengar

There´s actually an explanation for the Lumiose city ghost girl. Basically, it was all Hoopa´s fault. There were two girls. Many decades ago one of them got trapped on an elevator because of Hoopa and died while waiting for her friend (that was trying to find Hoopa again or someone that could get her out of there). The friend tried to get help for her and told her to keep listening the elevator to know when the help will come but her friend couldn´t find any help because she got teleported to the Hoenn region. The message in the train station in gen 6 and an npc in the ORAS remakes that ask you if you also ended up in Hoenn as a result of a mysterious power that teleported you there just like her prove this connection to Hoopa. I I remember correctly, the npc from ORAS can be found either on Mt Pyre or Mt. Chimney, one of those places. Hoopa was very likely supposed to be an in-game event Mythical Pokémon in X/Y but like Volcanion and Diancie got cut. Volcanion was tied to the power plant and Diancie probably to the Reflection Cave (since that's where Carbink is found). The train station and/or the hotel were most likely the places where Hoopa´s event would´ve taken place. The pokedex entries from the X and Y games may also have a connection to this story: "This troublemaker sends anything and everything to faraway places using its loop, which can warp space". "It gathers things it likes and passes them through its loop to teleport them to a secret place".

I first played Y in 2018 and I had no idea about that. Suddenly one day, about the first time you go back to Lumiose city from the second entrance, I randomly entered that building for the first time. It was freaking 2AM. I was not prepared for that at all. XD It's really weird that such a thing just exists and there's no major explanation to it after so long. Back then I was obsessed with this mystery and spent weeks trying to work out what it meant, and heard about similar events in Gen 4 and 5 games that I never found before. I know they'll probably never address those again, but it's such a wasted opportunity to not do so. I... I just need to know more. I think that the hex maniac from Oras is the same one from x and y. Oras takes place long before x and y since it takes place at the same time as gen 5 and we know gen 5 takes place long after gen 4, which already takes place 3 years after gen 1 and 3, it may be possible that she the same hex maniac and she died before she could find the person she was looking for.

I remember going into random buildings trying to find something (can’t remember what) and going into the building and elevator. I didn’t know about the ghost girl and when she popped up I thought my game was broken or it was actually haunted (since my game had been preowned) But now that I know about Hitomi it would actually make sense for a ghost girl to be reporting on all the spooky things and everything. Considering Pokémon’s track record it makes some sense. (Also can people talk more about the girl who said there was once a myth a froakie that turned into a human?)

Seems I was only able to HEAR the jumpscare. I figured since I was primarily recieving information, I let the video play while I got up for a bit to get a quick popsicle from the freezer. The sound occured before I could return. A weather warning? On my tablet's UKposts app? A ten second backtap allowed the sound to happen again, as I let the video play while I looked a little off to the side. Being able to see the vid in my peripheral vision confirmed my suspicions. Pokemon is fun but when it gets creepy, it gets creepy. Like when I did the Spiritomb encounter in ORAS. I was so scared at the time that my dad had to help me encounter it. And then the ghost trial from Sun and Moon. Long story short, Spiritomb and Mimikyu are my favorite ghost types.

The rule 34 thing was simply inevitabe with Hex Maniac : She's the perfect compromise between strong characterization (a weird Goth girl into Ghost stuff with dark long unkempt hair wearing dark long dress...) and a white sheet people can project whatever they want into (her age is unclear, her personality is vague, same for her sanity...) Add one mystery and one out-of place element (the milk-selling girl) to be sure players won't forget about her and you get a perfect waifu material. Game Freaks knew what they were doing here. Did it went too far ? Maybe, but at least she's not a pokémon.
