The Weeknd is the closest artist we have to Michael Jackson. He was #1 on Spotify for 2 years straight, had a Super Bowl show etc. but I still think he is underrated. It feels like most people see him as a regular pop artist when in reality his music is so much more. it's truly art.

I think he’s creatively burned out, ive been listening since 2011-2012 or so, when his first songs were on soundcloud. His latest album for his tv show he acted in was really bland and not a lot of depth like most of his music. Obviously people change and so will his music, his music has helped me understand myself a lot more, obviously not all of it. Especially recently in the last couple years as ive gotten older, you understand things more, the more you reflect on yourself. Thats one of the reasons why hes such an amazing artist, he’s not afraid to say at the time whats on his mind and what a man truly thinks, afterhours and my dear melancholy are perfect examples of his inner battles with a women even if it will make him look “bad”.

What does he do next? Country a la Darius Rutger and Beyonce?.... lord, I hope not. He's got too good an ear for vintage electronic pop that I just adore (at least in his last album)
