Because they CAN. All of the shooter's guns were purchased "legally" but through "private sellers" and in Texas, no background check is required. So anybody, no matter how ill, can easily purchase guns and do whatever with them.

The scale of the problem is uniquely found in the USA. And individual shootings dwarf the death rate of the mass shootings. The guns have to go, it's the only solution.

It's kind of rediculous to even think about restricting gun access at this point because all the people with guns will use them to avoid having them taken away.
