Its sad to see Alex leave as I have been watching tifo and especially listening to the podcasts since I was 13, I'm 18 now. this channel, alongside the introduction of Marcelo Bielsa to Leeds United has been entirely responsible to sustaining my football obsession in a new light. I gave up playing as I hated the dynamics of Sunday league and competition and aggression and the fact that I can only really play futsal and not Sunday league on a pitch like the battle of thee Somme. However now, I feel like I'm so passionate about tactics, analytics and nerdy football stuff I could hopefully become involved in sports writing one day. it would be an absolute dream. Alex and tifo have been simply unbelievable in the football media world. arguably the best thing to happen to football media in the last 5 years

I really dislike hearing people like Gary Neville saying he's not that good, forgetting that he scored 27 goals in 2017/18 for United, a career high before breaking that tally at Inter. After watching this video, I think Nunez can play for Borussia Dortmund. Somehow, his style is similar with Haaland does with the Black and Yellow side. Not a target man by trait, but more of dominant, runners in-behind type of forward.

Darwin has his weaknesses, but I do think he's ready for a big club. He's still sometimes got a heavy touch and lapses in decision, and that will get him some critics. But he's been improving on his weaknesses since he first got here, and he's grown a lot in the past 2 years. He's got a very rare combination of size, strength and explosiveness that makes him very hard to deal with and absolutely lethal when he has a bit of space to explore. He's also a very hard worker, he can press, and he's not selfish. Actually when he got to Benfica he was maybe too unselfish and there were times where he wouldn't shoot when he should, but he's worked on that and that's one of the reasons he scored so much this year. I wish he stayed here, and we shouldn't really be in a rush to sell him since he's got a long contract. He clearly likes it here and I don't think he would mind staying. But he likely will end up because so many clubs are interested, and the club probably won't be able to resist making a big profit.

He reminds me of an old striker from the 90s called Bret Angel. He is going to be awesome for Liverpool.

Benfica fan here. Agree with most of this analysis, what it doesn't say is that he is still maturing. His decision making on the ball is often very poor. He's also a bit clumsy sometimes, and I think that's also related to the mental side and decision making side of the game. Because he is not fully confident in what he is doing sometimes, and is trying to assert himself as quality player, a lot of times he is not ruthless in runs, shots or passes when clearly he has the capability. Very impressive numbers and lots of important goals in another very bad Benfica season where we played a lot in transition (using Darwin's athleticism), either with 3 Centre backs or a backline of 4 with a very low block. Midfield is a serious problem for us. I feel that a Man Utd move would be terrible for his career given the clubs current track record. I think he should stay another season at Benfica where he is a star and has stability and finish maturing as a player but also a man, because he seems like a great guy, great person, but still needs a little love and support. The fans love him. United is definitely not the place for that now. Truly world class potential here. ✌️
