The fact that John Hughes wrote the entire script of this movie in one week just goes to show what a genius he was

Ferris Bueller was a fun movie. He really packed it in, made the most of the day. My favorite movie is the 1956 version of 'Moby Dick'. The whole thing is amazing.
@Tubes12AX7k15 днів тому
I bought a new sports car a few years ago, and the way that I announced it to my friends was by sending them a picture of Ferris and Cameron staring into the garage and then a picture of my new car. 'Ferris' is an enduring classic. The other thing that you didn't mention about Ferris Bueller is that he's not a sports star, he wasn't a great musician (at all), he was a somewhat young-looking average guy... who really liked to have fun. The other thing that I read online somewhere was that the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off was one big daydream. The entire thing. Maybe Ferris was daydreaming it. Maybe Sloane was daydreaming it. Maybe Cameron was daydreaming it. But most importantly, we were all daydreaming it.

I thoroughly enjoyed your fantastic summary of this cherished classic! Thirteen-year-old me walked out of a matinee screening of the movie in 1986 feeling high as a kite I loved it so much. It instantly became a favourite and remains so to this day. I'm very happy the movie got you, too.

John Hughes classic. This is definitely in my top three movies of ALTIME! Back To The Future, and another Hughes classic The Breakfast Club

My mom did the opposite, she avoided showing me this movie until I was graduated. She was afraid I'd get some extra ideas and I missed enough school as it was

great analysis. I love it like you do because it resonates with me on a personal level. The museum scene to me is one of the most brilliant scenes in movie history--totally out of place if you don't think about its meaning or personal significance to the director, but pure perfection once you do

It's my favorite movie of all-time too. It celebrates life and has a positive optimistic spirit. Like most of John Hughes' movies there's something very genuine and honest about it, which helps it connect with people across generations. No matter my mood, I always feel better after I watch it.

This is my all time FAVORITE movie!!! I remember when I was about 12 or 13 I was sick and my older brother brought over a movie he thought I would enjoy watching since I was sick; think I had the flu. Anyway, that movie just happened to be Ferris Buller’s Day Off! There is a running joke between myself and a friend of mine about the very last scene, the school bus. The girl Rooney sits next to looks like her only on a ‘nerdy’ level. Every time I watch this, I’m like, “hey Jennifer look! It’s you!”

" The idea of skipping school or work or any form of responsibility is something that anyone can relate to"...Really??? And you think you are smart and analytical? You are pretentious, that is sure, but having such bad habits as something worth aspiring to, or even having such wishes, to skip work or any form of responsibility simply makes you lazy, and not really smart... You are still young if you were in fourth grade in 2011, and maybe you will learn the value of work habit and having a sense of responsibility. If you think stopping so often and having useless and empty fun, well, that may lead you into some bad habits very fast and very deep. Ferris Bueler is the epitome of infantilism... It works for certain young adults who think fun is the most important thing in life... And that is it. A comedy that is well done, but you are putting that on a pedestal as your favourite movie and you are inventing reasons why it is so good...Well, it is not...And you will understand that one day...or maybe not.
