I'm 34. Been married. Been chasing love since I was old enough to conceptualize it at about 15. Lots of toxic long term relationships. I finally accepted I was the common denominator in all of them. Decided to quit dating and just be with myself. Now it feels like a super power. I don't need anyone to be content.

Totally agree that there is no such thing as ‘the right one’. I was married for 7 years, had 3 children and have now been divorced for 47 years. Yes, I am old now. My point: I have done just fine being solo, raising my kids and enjoying my own company. Since I became responsible for only myself, I have had some great adventures, and I love my life. Last fall, I bought a minivan, did a no-build inside and have lots of plans to start traveling in Canada in early spring. Age is just a number, and you do not need a spouse to ‘complete’ you. I am woman; hear me roar! Amanda and Frank are awesome! ❤

I needed this today! I am having lots of health issues and two days ago I lost my best friend Daisy she was 13 years old. Just started coughing, got her to the vet and there was a large tumor. I am getting by because I know she's at peace and I gave her the best life possible. So this video touched me deeply thank you Amanda and I'm praying blessings for you and Frank. ❤

I don't think it's a matter of loving another person but not settling for less than we want in life JUST to have another person by our side. I have been in toxic relationships and they were hard to rid myself of. Years later, I finally enjoy my solitude and don't require anyone to enjoy my life. Relationships for me are too much trouble. I am very happy just being with myself and no one tells me what to do, how to act, etc.....I like me and will always strive for improvement, but I don't need to change for others including me. Hope Frank is comfortable and getting the rest his poor body needs. Take care of you and Frank. You both deserve that.....Always.

You could be called anything you like or not anything at all: in my days I was called a “free-spirit”. I was a photographer and film maker that enjoyed my time alone with my camera. But, don’t be too surprised if one day you find someone that becomes a close friend without drama.

I understand your perspective, as for quite some time after my divorce, people would just randomly say, “Don’t worry. The right person will come along.” I finally realized that I’m not actually looking for someone and I’m not willing to wait around for them. My life is NOW, and every day is a day that’s lost if I’m not out living it. Now, people say, “I can’t believe some of the things you do.” Would they rather I sit and wait? That’s just insane, imo. All that said, I’ll take each day and enjoy it as it flows. Hopefully, I’ll continue to meet and enjoy many friends.

I do everything alone. And I prefer it. I maintain an open heart and know I'll get what I need. Frank's underwater swimming footage. Love that. The ariel views of the tideline waves weaving in and out if each other, was quite mesmerizing. Per usual, your words are always gentle reminders to be self aware, self loving and gentle with ourselves. Long story short I was married one time now I'm single. Prior to me getting married I really didn't want to be single. But now after being single again I find it is ever. Wake up when I want and don't have to worry about pissing off somebody else. Your space, photography shows a peace in life. Good for you! Last week I enjoyed three night time campfires by the ocean, out of my CRV with my dog along coast in Washington State. The Big Dipper is so much brighter at the ocean. Easier to fall asleep as camp fire goes out.

I'm going through the same problem with my dog. I understand!. Tomorrow he goes to a specialist and I have to decide which direction we will go. It's so hard. Is he suffering, I don't know. 11 years of "perfect " and one day of hell. Again, it's so hard.

What a gorgeous location! Being able to enjoy your own company is so powerful. I had given up on having a spouse because of similar issues, ie. someone trying to control you, when I met my husband and kindred spirit on a ski trip. But had I not met him I was fine to be alone. Don’t regret the past, you have learned valuable lessons and shaped the today Amanda, who is a beautiful person. What I have recently learned is that simple living is key. I am still working on shedding some society expectations that I have been suckered into. You seem to be further into that journey, and I truly thank you for sharing your wisdom. ☮️

Love this video, great scenery, so serene. I have come to so many of the same conclusions as you, and the times I have wasted looking for a partner have been just that "wasted time" the best thing to do is to find yourself, and be happy. Seems like most of society is searching for someone to complete them and I just don't believe I am incomplete. Or even "single" I am already a whole entire person lol ! In my 20s/ 30s I dated nonstop with most relationships lasting 3 years. However, when I was 33 after dating a horrific man, I decided I could not be responsible to make good relationship choices so I decided to be single. I dated nobody for 18 years until the perfect guy came into my life. We met online through Greyhounds and he showed me he was perfect for me and we found love again (he had stayed single for 24 years as he was caring for 4 sick family members) and we've been together ever since. The universe will know when you are ready and I'm sure Love will come for you! You are too special to not be loved by the perfect partner, when you both are ready. Maybe your perfect match is still readying themself for you. ❤️

Dom, I am single, 52, never been married, and haven’t dated much, as I helped care for my sick parents for almost 20 years, and along the way I developed chronic illness. I totally enjoy and love myself. I also have a very dear person in my life, whom I’ve been friends with for over 14 years and who happens to be married. A couple things: One, Frank absolutely fits his name. It is a strong stoic name. He just looks like a Frank. :) Being alone: So i think that the art of being comfortable alone is so valuable. I travel alone, shop alone, camp alone, pretty much do everything alone if you don't count my dogs. The dogs keep me from being lonely but it sure would be nice to have a human to share driving or beautiful sites with. I have a few friends that I camp with and it makes it a lot of fun especially since we have our own rigs and can go to our own space when we need alone time. Sharing a van/tent/rv would be a challenge since the dogs don't really want to share me at bedtime. I think it is good to just wake up and take each day moment by moment and deal with everything as it comes. I hope Frank is feeling better in days to come. I know how much you love him. It is hard to watch and not be able to fix it.

The longer you spend alone the more you tend enjoy your own company (especially if you've got an animal companion). I've found that when it comes to dating, I am more unwilling than ever to want to change for anyone or live with something about that that I don't like because the reality is we don't have to live that way. Of course sometimes things might be better shared but I can honestly say that I have enjoyed my every minute of my solitude on the road. Cheers, Amanda!

I think you are an amazing woman and you are so good at doing things your own way. If you have small problems, you deal with it, especially driving an older vehicle, but that is so cool how you can go days without talking to anyone other than your viewers, and you can make so many decisions on what to do with yourself next, without saying a word to anyone except to Frank and yourself. Some other people do not understand how great it is to not have to deal with anyone but yourself and your dog. You do you!

I discovered your videos yesterday. I have to admit I wasnt a fan of the first one I watched but glad I gave the channel a chance! I love seeing someone create content in one place rather than moving all the time. I feel like if I ever did do van life I would approach it like you do. Focusing on self and bringing people along. Rather than going places TO create content. I love the peace that you convey. Subbed!

I have never been to a bar, do not drink, or use drugs. I got married to my husband when I was young. We celebrated our 50th anniversary this June. Our kids flew home for the week-end and we all spent the week-end together. I have never done what you are doing. We both retired together when we finally helped the last child finish his university degree. So now we enjoy life together. Guess life is different with everyone. I have been following you for awhile and will continue. May you be blessed with health and peace and joy!

What a beautiful video again Amanda. I went through some toxic relationships as well and it was the one with myself that attracted them. I have been working on myself ever since and though I am living an alternative lifestyle, on the move so to speak, I have yet to live in nature as you do, still sticking to noisy cities to camp. I hope I have the courage come summer to go more remote. It seems your lack of fear is as you said before, respecting the wildlife around you and arriving there in peace and without weapons. Good for you and I love to follow your adventures. You are inspiring to this older woman. Its never age that accumulates wisdom but what you learn and share on the journey that counts. Take good care :)

You’re a rare creature to find. Your days are what I strive for. I gave up my apartment in March and went full time living out of my Subaru Outback. In montana. We got some snow this weekend.

What a beautiful beach the waves crashing the fire popping and crackling the stars absolutely so peaceful. Frank so relaxed! Your such a good doggie mom and a real genuine person. Hi Amanda 😊 Really enjoying your video of your self adventure with Frank and yourself. I know the feeling and how nice it is to be able too get in touch with your inner self as you do these adventures. It can get lonely at times, but that’s when you really get to know your inner strength’s and you’re self worth. Enjoy your adventures and travels, and have safe travels. Myself and a friend or two will be in the BC area somewhere for the winter, too get away from the Alberta cold weather. Maybe we will cross paths sometime this winter.🤗 You and Frank enjoy what life brings 😊👋 Thanks for sharing !

What an absolutely beautiful video. Thank you for your heartfelt and open sharing. I'm coming to the same conclusion, though many years older than you are. New subscriber here, hi Amanda! I would love to hear more about your preferred dried foods such as brands you like, where you get them, and any other info you care to share (e.g., I had no idea about bean flakes). I am going FT in a few months and have a few dried foods, but am really in the learning stages about all of it. Seems like such a great way to conserve storage space while still being able to eat healthy and conveniently on the road AND have your food/ingredients last longer. You also mentioned (it might have been in another video) about how long your fresh zucchini lasted which is also super interesting! If you already have a video on this topic, if would be so grateful if you or one of your long-time subscribers could point it out to me. If not, I know I would love to watch a video on this topic from you if you made one. Thanks so much! Really enjoying all your adventures and beautiful videos and your sweet, charming Frank!

Thank you Renay 🙏🏼 I truly appreciate the support of viewers like yourself that have been along for the entire journey so far. I haven’t roasted beans since the spring due to renovations and such so I’ve been buying coffee. I only drink one cup a day and have made it a little smaller so just verrrry slightly cut back although I am considering removing it entirely. I like the flavour but I don’t need the caffeine anymore.

@@tidelinetoalpine Try the mushroom coffee, or mushroom (hardly any coffee) coffees. Yum. Less acid, more health aspects.
