It's traumatic for me to watch their testimonies, so I can't even imagine how it felt and how traumatising it was to live through all that horrible horrible tortuous part of their life... In addition to this, it makes me furious that they are still in jail. They were victims themselves. They had higher education, so they both had more tools to find a way to take revenge legally. They decided to go the criminal way, they understood the criminality of their actions, they bought weapons two days prior to the killings, and during that time they didn't stop, but they continued pursuing their criminal act. Once they killed their parents they started to live a luxurious life, spending a lot of money in luxury items, showing no remorse at all... They didn't "fight back." They murdered their parents in cold blood. An abusive childhood is not an excuse for murder. They were both more or less adults when they committed the murders. There's just no excuse. It's terrible what they went through, of course it is. I don't deny that-I don't think anyone does. But past abuses does not mean that you get a pass to murder others. Sexual child abuse is more common in all family demographics than anyone ever wants to admit. I have so many friends who have admitted to me that they were sexually abused as children or even teenagers, usually either by a family member or someone close to the family. And they've usually never told anyone in the family about what happened to them, but it still effects them to this day. And I can't blame them because I vividly remember a very good friend of mine in middle school finally telling another friend in our group that her father raped her, which was why she never wanted any of us to stay over at her house. She was always asking to come stay with any of us for the weekend and now I know why. Our friend then told her parents, and it all came out from there. My friend's parents were both arrested because her mom knew about it, and then she had to basically go into hiding because her father's family was claiming she was a liar and that her father would never do that to her and were literally threatening to come hurt her. A thirteen year old girl and their own family member. I saw all this happening myself so it's not something I was just told about. I feel for the Menendez brothers and anyone else who was abused so horrifically by people they should have been able to trust and never felt like they could tell anyone.
@starriw8050Рік тому
I agree; it is extremely common and every close relationship i've had they speak of childhood sexual abuse. My 3 longer term relationships with men each spoke of childhood sexual abuse. Also can someone tell if they actually got abused or not but from what I’ve heard again I’m using that phrase lol they when the parents died they were on the couch doing something like maybe watching a movie so in the eyes of the court of law they currently weren’t harming them in self defense, if the parents were allegedly abusing he sons the exact time that they died I’m pretty sure it would considered as self defense but because the currently weren’t harming them it’s not consider self defense AND IM NOT SAYING THAT EVEN IF THE ALLEGED ALLEGATIONS OF ABUSE ARE TRUE IM SAYING ITS OKAY I’m just saying the information I know thank you for reading this.

This case hurts my soul. Because I myself was molested as a kid. Adopted into a family with new parents, new siblings. I thought I really had a good chance at a better life then I would have had I been put in foster care. I was sexually abused by my "sisters and brothers" I was the youngest of them all. I wondered why they all would do these things to me. I thought it was normal because so many siblings did to me... I felt so much shame and sadness. There were times I went to my parents and they wouldn't believe me, but I know they knew. Sometimes they would see how we were around each other... I was so uncomfortable with my family by time I was a teen because I think them doing all they did to me made me do stupid things when I was young, thinking it was okay and normal for kids... I'm literally sitting here crying because the fact that they had to kill their parents because they knew they could not just go against them and say this stuff is heartbreaking.

and more knowing there's people who blame them, how can they blame victims?? they lack of emphaty
@kaylinwhite65843 роки тому
@@cutenessoverload96432 They shouldn’t have killed their parents and the lied about to evade punishment. Their are consequences for the actions we choose to make. For the murder of their parents that punishment is jail. The parents can’t legally be culpable for their alleged crimes because they are dead.

@@kaylinwhite6584 The father literally had pictures of them naked. Like OP said, a few years perhaps, but the court system did not take into account the abuse and instead took in only the murder.

Was the Menendezs’ mother evil though? I only hear about the father, but not the mother

When the kids talked about being abused, you saw the painful expression on their faces, but no tears, because it's not a real cry.

I live only like 2 minutes away from where this happened. I once visited the house. Game me some chills knowing that the schools I went to all my life we're close to where this happened.

Howard Alien it was deserved they took 2 lives but at the same time they are also victims. Sometimes justice isn’t fair.
@yeadichannel9244 роки тому
@theotomeobsession yes, killing someone can never be justified, but, may i remind you theres something called suicide, and its something that happens after the abuse is too much, death can also be an escape from the living hell they go through... abuse leads to the said suicide, the last line that u said, death should never happen in the hands of someone else confused me, its like saying its ok to commit suicide after enduring the hell
@clownworldhereticmyron10184 роки тому
@theotomeobsession The moment you create a child, you damn them to inevitable death. Why is that acceptable if this is not? I'll support the abused sons, not their disgusting, selfish parents.

I feel bad for the Menendez brothers. Imagine living with trauma all your life. Being raped, sexual abused, and then they killed someone. It is something you couldn't forget easily.

For real, seeing their faces for years every single day and acting like a normal family. Like that's a long time, no wonder they killed them. I can't even stand looking at my sister's face after she physically assaulted me a few times.

To be honest... They weren't 8, 9 or 11 y.o when they commited those crimes, they were around 18 and 21. They weren't poor, they had all the opportunities in terms of getting psychological/psychiatric help, in terms of getting a good lawyer to go against their father, in terms of seeking for professional help unlike poor people who depend on the public system (that you know it has never been good). So, to me this goes beyond resentment, this was mostly criminal behavior and perhaps psychopath minds working together. It's heartbreaking to see them try to talk about S.A, but those sad expressions should be taken with a grain of salt, not forgetting their situations and privileges prior to the killings they decided to commit... Anyways, people can easily fall for a pretty face and an athletic body in tears, and this seem to be one of those cases. I think they both got what they deserved.

If they hadn't gone on a shopping spree so soon after the crime, they would've gotten away with it. It shows greed as a motive.
