Why was rookie Lebron so disliked by his teammates?

Did you know that some of Lebron's teammates in his rookie year were also some of his haters. His coach at the time claims that that was perhaps his most impressive season because of the circumstances he had to endure.

Shaquille O'Neale was also one of those rookies who never (I think) experienced rookie hazing cause he was a big dude and acted as such. There was this story when a Scott Skiles told Shaq "Carry my bags rookie" and Shaq literally replied "I'm not a rookie, I'm the franchise". They left him alone after that. Pretty much sums up Diesel's career in the NBA.

Kid, these 1975 shorty shorts these dumbasses are wearing today makes everyone who wears them look like a buncha gay soy boys running around like fairies. Sit down. Yeah they were a little too baggy, but from about 91/92 to about 2002 they were perfect length. Just above the kneecap, some guys wore longer ones, like TJ Ford he wore 7 footer shorts at barely 6’0 and looked hilarious, but still. 99% of the league had normal length shorts. They actually still looked like men. With the gay ass universal haircut in the NBA right now and their ‘75 shorty shorts, you QUITE LITERALLY can’t tell the difference between the NBA and the WNBA right now. Sit down. People are insecure on how he proclaimed he’s the best. Your greatest supporter is yourself so I don’t see why they are oversensitive when Lebron proclaimed himself. Most of the included GOAT nominees also have that mindset. Even curry thinks he’s the best point guard and that’s fine with me even if I think magic is better. How can you be the best if you’re thinking like a prey and not an apex predator. People are very insecure nowadays but they turned it into hate despite knowing that Lebron is continuously breaking records which might stay there for a long time. The thing with Lebron was it was obvious he was ready to play in the NBA from day one. You dont pass on a talent like that and put him thrugh the haze system. Jealousy is a real thing and out of all people, vbeterans need to understand better than anyone else that talent is talent and there is nothing you can do about it, except for nurture it and not deliberately try to kill it and destroy it. They are called PROFFESIONALS for a reason. Them acting like some high school drama class queens just goes to show how unproffesional they were to begin with and why the Cleveland were in a position to even have a number 1 pick. I am glad humble Europeans like Jokic are dominating the league now because American players have been acting out like primadonas for too long. How his teammates treated him is literally the prime example of the Lebron hater mentality. There’s resentment to begin because of the hype for some people so from there it’s easy to create a narrative Lebron is bad if you’re only looking at his flaws because you want to tear him off the pedestal. Today you rarely see any nba players hating on him because they know how hard it is to win and dominate in the league themselves so they’d be fools to diss someone doing more than them.

They also know that he basically controls all the contracts and FA in the flopping friends league and to double team him or complain about how often he travels and flops is basically like making plane reservations to Siberia where your career will end up as a consequence. Why should your team's top player accept a lesser role and the entire chemistry of the team revolve around an overhyped rookie? MJ and Wilt didn't get afforded this luxury right away, unlike Lecheat; they had to actually earn it.

This may sound crazy but the most talent LeBron ever had during his first Cleveland stint was his rookie year. If they had just bought in and understood he was the one they may have had the building blocks for a championship team. There was nobody brought in the 6 years after his rookie season that was more talented than Ricky Davis, Carlos Boozer, Pre knee injury Darius Miles and DeJuan Wagner. The only thing trading them away did for LeBron was force him to be Superman without another bucket getter.

I always say this. Dejuan had a great rookie season it’s just that the Cavs never expected to be in the position to draft Lebron. Once they did , the fact the basically played the same position early on took him out of the team plans. Changed the whole trajectory of his career. I know he had some stomach issues but had he had his own team they would’ve been more willing to see him through to healing & becoming the player they expected Dejuan to be when drafted. But boy was definitely his city before Lebron as a pro. Should’ve gave them a chance to play together. After Dejuan was traded noone was looking at him like the Cavs were when they first drafted him by that point. & health issues. It’s was over with. Let him stick around a couple years to get a couple more checks.
