It's not what you think. Will Ferrell "turns it on" for interviews, he doesn't always act like this. He's not always in character. A buddy of mine is a DP in Hollywood and has worked with him on multiple films, and has told me that he's a really nice, laid back guy. He just knows when to turn it on for laughs.

Little Debbie, cow bell player, patriotic G-string and of course “Santa’s Elf”. He is clever choosing his characters and very skilled in performing them. Will is certainly one of the top performers of the “SNL” graduating class. A truly funny and gifted man.

My Media Planning professor works for the agency that does Little Debbie's ad stuff. They were a little freaked out when he did the segment, because they're EXTREMELY conservative and selective about where and when their ads run, and would probably never use a celebrity as a spokesperson. They tentatively ok'd the airing via Twitter but had nothing to do with it. Not exactly sure what his inspiration was, but the company and the agency definitely did not set this up, it was actually probably really uncomfortable for them.

Because these snack cakes have such a long shelf life and contain preservatives to resist staleness and mold, the joke is exaggerating how they do not break down in one's digestive system very easily. In addition, the frosting is developed to hold up well during packaging and shipping and eliminate melting off. It has a wax-like consistency (which I personally peel off whenever possible!) Hopefully this lengthy and detailed description helps.

I think I've opened up to Jimmy Fallon's instability to contain his laughter. On SNL it was very distracting, but then again, the skits are rarely ever funny. Jimmy laughing throughout interviews gives his show a sort of surreal like quality, where as if he's pretending to be a celebrity and do what comedians normally do, but reminds us that he too can't keep a straight face. It's very endearing. I like you Jimmy, I like you.
