Let's just appreciate in these uncertain times, that these guys had the guts to give a solid release date.

If Wind Waker, Breath of the Wild and Moana had a child it would look like this

When you love breath of the wild so much, that you get tired of waiting for the sequel and make your own.

This game goes from being link’s awakening, to breath of the wild to wind waker very quickly.

It's cool to see how much of an influence Wind Waker has even today. From this to Oceanhorn to Rime. There's a whole generation that still looks to it for inspiration.

I personally find it interesting. Regardless of "stolen" mechanics etc, it will have its own personality and gameplay-story to tell. Different map, soundtrack, designs etc. A game has a plethora of aspects, not just mechanics and artstyle. And I am willing to experience it. If anything, I would PRAY for it to resemble the BotW, we need more games like this.

I don’t see why being so similar to breath of the wild is a bad thing, breath of the wild is a fantastic game, is it not? I’m happy to buy such similar games if they each offer an array unique attributes (art style and game mechanics being a big part, too) This looks pretty cool and will definitely get my attention when I’m able to buy a new game later this month

Just so people are aware, there's no copyright on game mechanics (there may be on the literal code but not on the mechanics themselves). I will celebrate any and every game that draws inspiration from BotW or Zelda games in general because I love the concepts from that series. That does not mean the games will automatically be good just because they get inspired from some good stuff but I mean it definitely can't hurt. This game looks pretty cool, looks a bit stiff control wise and is not likely to be nearly the size of BotW but it looks appealing and like an interesting game. I'll see what reviews say and likely give it a try once it releases.

Given the visual style and protagonist washing up on shore at the beginning of the trailer, I honestly thought this was a sequel to RIME.

This game isn’t getting enough actual positive feedback lol, so I’d like to say I think it looks like a quite fun and pretty game!

I'm almost done with this game and I have to say it's one of my top favorites of all time. I've been intimidated by Breath of the Wild and was so interested by the survival aspect of Windbound. The graphics are incredible given it's just a $30 game as is the music. All of the different animals you encounter are unique and have interesting personalities and animations. The same basic premise activating the three Nautlius Towers and making a sea crossing repeats in each of the five chapters making it an easy to understand setup allowing you to focus less on advancing and more on exploration, survival strategy, and discovering information about the fallen society. You could easily finish this game in an afternoon if you just wanted to get to the end, but the maps are surprisingly big and there's so much to discover on the islands you come across. There's finding new materials and learning new recipes, tackling increasingly difficult animals, and picking up the clues of the fallen civilization. The character you control, Kara, is the only person in the entire game and as gameplay gets more challenging you realize just how alone in this world Kara is and that you are responsible for her survival. One of the most interesting parts is the sailing aspect which is a big part of the game - again something you can be more or less serious depending on what you want to get out of the game. Like hunting, sailing is a skill you learn over as you build and upgrade your boat. Pro tip - until you can add at minimum one hull, one on either side of the canoe being the best, don't add a sail. Sailing is much more difficult on a standalone canoe. Plus, you at the mercy of the wind direction which could leave you stuck on an island for a game day or more. As you make changes sailing will change and you have to learn to adjust. Overall, this is an amazing game. I would love a part 2 or some DLC to keep going because disappointed that I'm almost done, though I can see myself playing it again in a few months and try different strategies.

When do people realize that everything is a rip off of something invented before in one way or another. You could also just say that games build up on top of each other. Good mechanics get developed further, the bad ones don't last long. I really dig the trailer. Looks like an awesome game. Let's see if it's fun to play.
