One of the things I like about cats is that their behavior is pretty uniform. People don’t think of them as domestic animals they same way they do dogs (and there are some good reasons for this 🙂) but most cats, if they’re raised around people, well-treated & well-fed tend to be pretty chill. Cats are a lot more powerful than dogs pound-for-pound, of course, and big cats dwarf the largest canines, so you always have to respect them, but I honestly don’t see that much difference behavior-wise between a panther like Luna & an energetic domestic cat. Scale matters, of course! This works both ways, of course. My seven pound tortie, Murka, gets over-excited when she’s playing sometimes. She bites a little too hard sometimes when she plays with my other cat (and me.) It’s no big deal. I just put her into kitty timeout for a few minutes & give her some time to chill out. If Murka were Panther-sized, however, this would be a VERY big deal. If Murka was panther-sized & be much more concerned about her biting the hand that feeds her…😉 Just goes to show how well-trained Luna is. She understands that she’s a lot bigger & stronger than her human her non-playmates & knows not to rough-house too much. Taking responsibility for a big cat is a huge responsibility & there are very good reasons why my country (the US) has strict laws regarding the ownership of big cats. That said, it’s still awesome seeing Luna out & about with her family, living her best life & being a happy, playful giant putty-tat. 🙂❤️ (On a related note, if you have a chance, you might want to check out Dolph Volcker’s channel. He’s a UKpostsr/big cat conservationist who mostly works with cheetahs. Cheetahs, interestingly, are arguably the least aggressive & most sociable of the big cats. It’s an evolutionary adaptation. Cheetah’s share space on the African Savannah with lions, hyenas & leopards. If you’re a cheetah & these guys are your neighbors & competitors for prey you learn the value of de-escalation pretty quickly.)

With cats, everything’s just a matter of scale. 😁 I’ve had house cats (mostly former street cats) that were more aggressive than Luna. If a five, or six or seven kilo kitty gets over-excited when he or she’s playing it’s no big deal. Maybe I get some scratches & have to stick my cat in another room for a few minutes while he chills out. If that same cat weighs 50 or 60 or 70 kilos it’s a much bigger deal if he gets in the habit of biting the hand that feeds him. 😉
