Really nothing complicated about it, I believe it just runs military 2 1/2 or 5 ton Rockwells with 4 wheel steer. That's what all the monster trucks ran back in the day.

There is a homemade flange welded to the wheel that adapts it to the hub. The hub is a planetary to be able to turn the 2300lb tires. The suspension is just leaf springs with 4 eight thousand pound rebound shocks. Saw it in person once and had to study it. What's going to be interesting is what happens when those tires fall apart, because those things are old.. like really old.

Sorry H&P Customs, the wheels and tires came from a junk yard in Seattle, WA. It was a land train, but not a Russian one. The US Army commissioned the vehicle to traverse the terrain in Alaska. Check here for pictures: bigfoot4x4.com/blog/bigfoot-5/

That's actually Bigfoot 7, it's very similar to Bigfoot 5.

I remember hearing Bob Chandler say once that they bought 2 sets of ten footers, enough to outfit 2 trucks (Bigfoot 5 & 7) I would presume then that these are the original tires the truck has always run with. They've been long out of production, more than 50 years now, so all that's left is what can be bought from scrap yards. Very rare indeed.
