At first They were hated by New Yorkers. They were described as giants boxes. But Once they started to build other buildings around the towers in the mid 80s it broke up the massive box look and gave feature to the towers. Also the addition of the north antenna mast in 1979 helped to give uniqueness to each tower. Then Hollywood caught on and started featuring the towers in film, they eventually became America’s buildings and were unofficially the symbols of American might and invincibility. It is easier to understand and picture the damage caused inside the towers when you see an air view of the layout whilst in construction. The first plane's wreckage was probably lodged inside the core while the second missed the majority of the core but swept through the floors where it was caught by the perimeter columns near the corner on the opposite side of the tower. Along the insides of the perimeter columns going up you can see the angle clips where the trusses would have sat. It shows how easy it would have been for the impact of the planes to knock them off their hinges and compromise the structural integrity between wall and core. No one in 1970 could imagine an airborne assault of the scale of 9/11, otherwise it would surely have been designed differently.

What's really really bizarre and almost never gets mentioned anywhere is the gigantic hole of WTC 6. WTC 1 collapsed directly on top of WTC 6 and you would expect to find the debris of the tower but also the rest of the building underneath it. But a camera crew recorded the aftermath of the attacks on the same day just a few hours after from a helicopter and there was a gigantic hole inside of WTC 6, the size of almost two thirds of the building was gone. The building took a direct hit from WTC 1. But all that was inside of the hole that was at least as deep as the actual height of WTC 6 was some (with some I mean it's not what you would expect to find) steal beams at the bottom of the hole. But the rest was missing. It really looked like as if someone drilled a gigantic hole into the building. I'm usually not a fan of mysteries and that stuff, because everything can be explained somehow. But it's really bizarre and I can't wrap my head around what happened to that building to this day.

Rebuilding the twin towers is not the answer. 2,749 lives lost in the WTC attacks will not be undone and it'll never make things right. The site as it is now is the best re-design possible as the two pools are the site of an immense monstrosity and should be regarded as a cemetary. One WTC is as tall as the old North Tower was and represents a city that has come to terms with 9/11 and moved on. they were simply two amazing buildings destroyed by evil scum, ive never visited or went on top of the world trade center. but a few people where i live in england had the pleasure to visit them, they simply mentioned how huge and beautiful they really were. watching video's on the two twin towers being built, the manpower and seriously huge amounts of hours spent building these towers wow. and then many many years later these two remarkable twin towers are ruduced to rubble, so god damn sad and not to mention all those innocent lives destroyed by sheer evil. R.I.P twin towers, R.I.P to all that lost their lives.

They were described as the boxes that the Empire State and Chrysler buildings were delivered in. That’s actually pretty hilarious. But they were so impressive and immense. Especially when they were first built and were unimpeded by later additional buildings blocking their prominence directly on the waterfront.

It is public record that WTC building 7 was demolished by the order of the management company of WTC to the fire dept , saying "pull it" Question is how and why would any WTC building be pre set to demolish ?

Bro, the jet fuel of the 2 767s although it might have not melted the steel beams, it might have weakened them to the point they cannot resist with the weight of the towers, that's what made them collapse, don't chitchat about Building 7, a literal half kilometer 110 story wide skyscraper fell on it, there are even some pictures showing that the falling debris from the North Tower damaged the north side of the building that faced towards New York Harbor and the other buildings of the Trade Center, wich caused some fires and major damage that made the 47 story wide building collapse at 5 PM.
