Hey, you've got to give him props for the previous attempt. He actually managed to remove the old HDMI port and solder a new one on (albeit, incorrectly) without damaging the pads.

Have to give props to the person that unisoldered those pins. They didn't rip any pads or mounting rings off during their port replacement.

This I happened to do this kind of repair where I soldered everything in just one solder blob. It got me thinking as to what could be the cause and I came to realize that at time the heat wasn't enough or my iron tip had a problem. My flux as well. But the less heat of the iron coupled with inexperience was the primary cause.

What kind of flux do you recommend for desoldering the xbox series s hdmi port, and what temp would you guess the solder on board comes loose at? I've got my heat gun set at 600 f,is that too much or should it be 900f? Heard somewhere it's about 900, but I'm asking everywhere I can to try and get a good idea what will work best. I'm experienced with micro precision soldering, so im familiar, but not familiar with working on the xbox s series or any xbox for that matter.
