День томуHow does the Xiaomi 13 Ultra (5000mAh) stack up against the Samsung S23 Ultra (5000mAh), OPPO Find X6 Pro (5000mAh), OnePlus 11 (5000mAh), HONOR Magic 5 Pro (5100mAh), Huawei P60 Pro (4815mAh), and iPhone 14 Pro Max (4323mAh) in this ULTIMATE Real Life Usage 100%-0% Battery Drain Test?!?
All Phones are Set to the Exact SAME Brightness Level (Using a LUX Meter). If a phones display looks brighter or dimmer than another, it's due to my studio lighting.
I Run through 15 APPS which include System Apps, Media Apps, Social Media Apps, Benchmark Apps (to simulate High Performance Gaming), and Games. Intervals are clocked every 30 Minutes and at each interval I show the Percentage of each phone as well as their Temperature in degrees Celsius using an Infrared Heat Gun!
Note 1: The Xiaomi and OPPO are Chinese variants.
Note 2: All 7 phones have 100% battery health.

Hi TechNick. First off, thanks for the great video. Very informative and fun to watch how tech is improving and very consistent quality. Concise and simple too! I really liked your method of testing and the consistency of content. My favourite is the fact you tried to keep the test comparable to all your older videos. If I may though, a suggestion I would have is not to do a play by play readout of all the percentages during the early few stages as it's way too much data to listen to, data that you've clearly stated on the screen, perhaps just highlight a few, like XX is the hottest, YY is in the lead. No need to state each and every battery percentage for each brand. It's fine when there are lesser phones though. Fingers crossed for me, my Honor Magic 5 Pro is arriving from my carrier soon. Have been on a Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition for the last 3 years. Looking forward to my first Honor experience.

Im using Honor Magic5pro for a month now ...the battery is INSANE! The craziest one i ever had. I often end the day with 5h screen on time and 50% battery left. Never ever happened with any other flagship. Of course, if I game a lot, it falls to 30% or so.. but it just can't die within a day no matter what i do.

I'd be interested to see how the heat is dissipated towards the back. Maybe some manufacturers are channeling the heat towards the screen to avoid consistent heat towards the palms. SOC temps would be an interesting metric to add with an overlay. I remember people saying the Xbox series X was hot compared to the PS4 because it was expelling more heat out the exhaust.

Hey Nick. I'm interested in seeing background tasks such as file transfers, sending videos and downloading files in these tests. I suspect the iPhone will stop these processes and only continue when the app is in the foreground. I heard it was improved with their app refresh(?) thing, but it's a use case I use often. Want to see how much 'magic' they can extract from that benchmark.

Most apps on iOS now allow background downloads, like Spotify, Evernote, Dropbox, etc. With Dynamic Island, if the app supports that, then up to two apps can run in the background and you can view progress in Dynamic Island. So although not up to Android standard, mainly because Apple does not allow illegal downloads, 99% of iOS users it is good enough for multitasking. There are still some apps, like printing via the HP app, that you need to keep in the foreground.

@@andyH_England I mainly do downloads including downloading videos with a third party app, sending videos in the background on WhatsApp and transfering things to my Nas / network storage. Being at the whim of the developer would be annoying tbh. Just an added headache as usual with iOS like not being able to manage internal storage and moving icons to where I would like. Which for people like myself, sadly doesn't put the iPhones on the map.

I went from Huawei Mate 20x to Honor magic 5 pro and İ'm very impressed about it's battery life! The only negative is that the phone is getting very hot while i'ts charging... The honor magic 5 pro also struggles with overheating in everday use.

I have an idea, if you try to include a device which is 3 years old flagship will be very enjoying to watch when compared to current flagships for example you can use S20 Ultra so we can have an idea about how much a battery degrades in 3 years because an average consumer uses it's phone for at least 3 years.

I am very concerned about the temperature problem on the p60p. there are many reports that the thermal camera is very large and fast. seems to be only 5 minutes. but in your video it seems to be fine. Not sure how to use p60art /pro in practice? should i worry about it?

QHD is OTT. Apple called their display retina as pixels are indistinguishable when the iPhone is used as it should. QHD makes zero difference in quality versus retina, and I suspect Android uses that resolution as it is cheaper to manufacture in bulk.

(as a Samsung fan) i have to say that i dont think thats actually the case, iPhone is better If you compare batterie time.. the thing that does makes a difference here is the (better) larger display and the charging time but nevertheless both are fine and 9 or 10 hours are good and defintly enough. In total comparison the S23 Ultra is way better anyways so lets give that (half a) point to Apple ;)

Very true indeed that setting a lower resolution does not affect battery life at all, so many tests have shown this already. Yet some people set their flagships phone at a lower resolution thinking they are getting better battery.

I had the Honor but returned it today. It has a stuttering issue on UKposts. It’s widespread. Updating UKposts didn’t help. It is a problem with the refresh rate. It ends up lagging / slowing down

Hey one suggestion for u when u use rear video recording use something like their phone box or a small wooden block to raise the levels of the phone just because the camera goes black and no pixels are used which doesn't really have more effect on the battery. If u see the iPhone recording is black which makes it drain less battery. So please use this suggestion to give more practical battery life. Thanks

You also need to measure the brightness of the screen during these tests. You can see how the iPhone has greatly reduced the brightness in comparison with others

This is the first battery test I've seen where the ultra didn't beat the iPhone or it was exactly next to it. Another thing interesting is the ProMax has been exposed for terrible thermals but in this test it performed better than anyone else.

Thanks for taking the time. 5:41 I notice that the 14 Pro Max cheats a little on the Main Video recording where its camera is more flush to the table so the image on screen is much darker and results in less power used by the display, compared to the other devices. Would be glad if you'd elevate it slightly so it has a brighter image next to see if it fares the same.

Sorry, but, what you say at 2:03 is absolutely wrong. A natively 1080p screen of relatively the same size and technology, will consume less than a natively 1220p screen, which itself will consume less than a natively 1440p screen. If in your opinion, it does not affect the battery 🔋, it would have been ok to leave all Android smartphones in FHD, especially since it is the default setting of all these smartphones 🤷🏽♂️ It is true that switching by software a screen that is natively 1440p in 1080p does not save the battery 🔋 drastically, but, we can easily save 30mn if not 1h in some cases.

That is clearly what he meant and you are being pedantic as he was referring to why he did not use 1080p on the Android phones. I saw a Mrwhoistheboss and Phonebuff testing a Samsung on QHD and FHD+ and both found that the difference in SOT was nominal. I have used it myself and found no difference. I assume it is because by downscaling to 1080p you still have the same number of LEDs lit.

One fact that we have in this test is that despite the fact that the iPhone already has time in the market, it has the best battery than the others so it passes a while, while the S23 ultra with so little exit time goes from bad to worse, Apple’s batteries as time goes by are more efficient.

My Rog Phone 7, with A SIM card, over 2 - 3 days without charge & on 60hz reaches 16+ Hours SOT. On 165hz it Reaches around 14 Hours SOT. Great video Nick 👌👌

No it does not. Many videos showing resolution makes zero difference, ie. the S23U was reduced to FHD+. The extra size is nominal. What makes far more difference is the iPhone having a 15% smaller display, which would translate to another 1.5h!

@@andyH_England Resolution does make a huge difference, however, if you lower the resolution on a screen by halfing it, the phone still has to run the full resolution of pixels, + it needs extra processing power in how to downscale 2:1. 4:1 is easy small squares to larger squares, doesn't work with 2:1.

@@fa14bi-78 In this test resolution of each phone makes nominal differnce if you downscale QHD to 1080p. A native 1080p would benefit by about 12% extra SOT, but not downscaling QHD. This has been proved numerous times and I am surprised people continue to bring it up as an excuse.

@@andyH_England I mean yes, that's what I just said. Downscaling is native 1440 to 1080 is not going to save energy. If it is native 1080, it's going to use less energy than native 1440. and 720p saves about 5% battery compared to 1440, but still isn't that much. Just doesn't do anything with 1080p
