Thanks for covering this. I'm a long-time convergence advocate using DeX on a daily basis. Need more awareness of the fact that your phone is literally a computer. Having the desktop mode on the device like this is such a great showcase for it. Fold3 needs to allow this.

Agree, after the update, my Mix Fold PC mode works....its a little bit of gimic more than a very useful form factor. I found the small windows , of each app...very few are sizable...and they cant launch to full screen from here....which would have been nice...

Hey Ben, will you be doing a review on it?? i watched your comparison and day in the life videos on it and i can,t make my mind up wether to go for galaxy z fold 2/3 or mi mix fold, though I think the Z fold 2 looks better, more refined, with slimmer bezels. The price has come down to around £1599 here in the UK and other youtubers are now recommending the Z fold 2 more now over the mi mix fold because of the price reduction as the galaxy fold 3 is due out soon, but from what I've read and videos watched, the only real difference from what i can tell is a under display camera and up tp date chipset, still no super fast wired/wireless charging, rear cameras apparently will remain the same triple 12mp as the Z fold 2 but is actually the same triple 12mp cameras from the Galaxy note10+, and from that point of view, suddenly, the mi mix fold now looks more appealing, I think the mi mix fold looks value for money. I can live without the wireless charging, selfie camera on inner display and 120hz refresh rate. so yeh, I would rather go for the bigger and brighter inner display, faster charging speeds of the mi mix fold and overall the more up to date specs when compared to the galaxy z fold 2. and to be honest the bezels on the inner display isnt bad, the outer display bezels is just about fine with me. Yes I could also wait for the galaxy z fold 3 with it's more up to date chipset, but I am not willing to spend £2000+. Also, is there going to be a Mi mix fold global variant? I'm hoping your review on it will help me make a more informative decision!!

I'm starting to get comfortable with Xiaomi and I really hope this feature will come to their regular phones, at least the high ends ones similar to Samsung DEX. There's a possible convenience i.e in a hotel with a tv that have hdmi or casting, you can have external display on your phone when you're in vacation so you don't have your laptop or what not but needed to do a minor work on cloud.

Yeah, I guess this is pretty similar to samsung dex, don't really know if it's actually the same since samsung dex can be used with multiple windows for some system apps like file manager, gallery, browser etc. And also they have drag and drop feature to makes it more desktop like experience.

When Samsung launched DEX everyone said its crappy, now Samsung has wireless dex, windows screen mirror in their tabs but these brands are now getting into the first stage of desktop mode!!

it has also in Huawei features like that in their Tabs.

And the Iphone is holding the same style since more than 1 decades haha, Xiaomi doing really good with this device. I must buy one.

So far only Samsung, Huawei, and Smartisan(discontinued) do real phone-desktop interface. I've tried Dex and Emui but didn't like either of them, wish you could do a discontinued Smartisan R2 video, Great content btw.

All Android tablets should have this PC mode functionality.
