That is talent you got there. I ordered mine 2 days ago with the keyboard and mouse as a laptop alternative since it has PC mode now. As a Poco F1 and F3 owner it really feels great having tech that has great quality but at a fraction of a cost. Xiaomi is the original flagship killer.

Nice review. What's it like using it as a notebook lite with the keyboard? Assume it's not as good as Samsung DEX in the Galaxy S7 tab but it's about USD200 less.

Tysm! This helped me so much I got the Xiaomi pad for Christmas and got the pen yesterday and it wouldn't connect..I realised I was putting it on the side for the keyboard 😂 thanks for helping me realise my mistake

I have measured the Xiaomi Pad 5 pen latency as no one seems to do that. It is ~40ms give or take 4ms. I measured it at 420fps (~2ms per frame + 2ms human error) The S7FE is 28ms and s7+ is 9ms (OLED version) the new tab S8+ and S8 ultra are 2.8 ms(OLED versions, According to samsung). It is good enough for most things but you don't get that "ink out of the pen" feel you get with the samsung (and the iPad)

When taking notes are you able to rest your hand on the tables while writing without is shifting the screen? I would mainly buy it for taking notes and occasional drawings.

What do you think of the display - people say it isn't bright enough. Some say Netflix and UKposts don't work well with HDR and the dark scenes are really bad - hardly visible...?

I would love to see a review on this pad with Nomad Sculpt. No review for this at all. And I guess there are a lot of artists with a smaller budget who are wanting to know how this tab performs and how many polygons it could handle... A second thing I wish to know is if this tab has something like Samsungs Ram Plus (Virtual ram expansion).

Yeah it depends on how you use the tablet. For a lot of handheld use and drawing, etc.. it’s perfectly fine. If you perhaps use it on a stand most of the time to watch content it might have been smaller. I guess it really depends on your purpose :)

Not a year after this review, took it for 250 eur, it is a great tablet... only 50 eurs more than Nokia 20T or some S6 Lite. They are not in it's league... And didn't know about the pen, my wife is drawing on XPPen tablet for PC for few years, this will come in handy!

bought mine few days ago for 2199 for the 256GB version (without the pen and the keyboard that i bought separately ) and i checked the Pro version which, in my opinion, was not really worth the money : Fingerprint lock, 5G network, snapdragon 870 for pad 5 Pro and 860 for the pad 5, even the seller at the Mi store told me the difference was not really obvious. i'm very happy with my purchase ^^

The german Xiaomi Website says 500 Nits brightness. The Pad 5 supports 33W charging, not 22.5W - but the charger in the box is 22.5W.

holy dhick. a must have tablet pc, with a gpu that can run most updated emulator like PS3, citra 3ds, PS2, nintendo switch EGG NS, PC games. advanced specs with a reasonable price i saw other that they use Dex (desktop mode) and it's so awesome. running genshin while playing other yt videos look at how MiPad5 surpassed samsung in benchmark score
