She has one of the most stable voices I’ve ever heard
@Barrosy8 місяців тому
I've watched a lot of Japanese artists and content to know that she (Lilas Ikuta, also known by Ikura) is good but there are also many great other artists out there. Check out Risa Oribe (aka LiSA), Yuki Aimoto (aka Aimer) and also Yui Yoshioka (aka Yui). There's also this artist with her very own energetic style of singing called Towana (also know from Fhána). This girl from a band called Girlfriend (no longer exists unfortunately) goes by the name Kanazawa Sakika. Talking about bands I would recommend you to check out Man with a Mission.

I’m the guy right behind the cameraman. Let me provide some context on this amazing crowd. We all went an hour early to wait in the burning hot 95 degree weather sun before the performance to get a front row view. We were shoulder to shoulder rubbing against each other and sweating on each other getting burned by the blazing sun but all of us can admit it was worth it to experience and welcome YOASOBI to their first US performance!
@CheetoFingers9 місяців тому
The energy was absolutely immaculate. I was having a blast during YOASOBI’S set. Totally an unforgettable experience. So glad they stayed and performed at the finale.
@unwishfulthink9 місяців тому
Lol, so true. Many (myself included) camped out early just for YOASOBI so the crowd for the two previous performances were (quite) a bit inflated.

There is a suspicion of lip-syncing, but she doesn't do that. Because she wanted to make her voice heard, ever since she was unknown, she has been performing on the streets a lot. She is 22 years old and is the purest professional of all.

yes you can clearly see shes using her muscles in her neck bc shes singing!
@fiskars98006 місяців тому
i played one of her songs at the same time as this video i think and it was perfectly the same so kinda weird that she made no error but idk
@create3064 місяці тому
The last song was a lip-sync, unfortunately. If you are a singer, you would know. Check how the mic is muted after the song and she tries to speak. Nonetheless, I would still go see them.
@valaire714 місяці тому
There is no lip-sync here.
@coo8374 місяці тому
Ah, not the first song but the last song is a lip-sync. It’s unfortunate that she has to do that. When she says arogato at the end of the video, you can tell that the microphone was off until a few seconds later. Don’t worry. Michael Jackson did lip-syncing, too!

YOASOBI grossly underestimated their popularity here. They need to come to US much, much more often. An indicator: All merch in HITC were available pretty much throughout both days, except YOASOBI merch. Everything YOASOBI was sold-out within an hours of gate opening. It wasn't even close.

@unwishfulthink9 місяців тому
@@rai357 In a way I am really glad YOASOBI came to LA as part of the HITC, which took place on a golf course that can handle a massive crowd. If it's a stadium or theater we might not have been able to get tickets. That said, YOASOBI crowd was easily 4X larger than the next largest draw at HITC.

Another indication that YOASOBI grossly underestimated their popularity here: Ikura introduced themselves as "YOASOBI from Japan", as if she is not quite sure whether we Americans know them. I suppose the first time the Beatles performed in US they might have introduced themselves as "Beatles from UK".

I bet its a trip the first time a band comes from Japan to play the US. The concert etiquette for both cultures is very very different. Fans in Japan are energetic but they are very very strict in how they behave at a show. You don't see the craziness and absolute unrestrained energy you see in the US concert crowds in Japan. Everyone kinda stays in their lane in Japan at a show and it's just a more restrained experience. Crowds here get crazy, jumping around and while still considerate of each other...a certain amount of controlled chaos is not only acceptable but expected at high energy shows here in the US. It's gotta be an awesome experience for a band from the Japan the first time they see a crowd go nuts here.
