I was on a big supplier meeting call with Brisbane City Council the other day with a large range of suppliers discussing their values and priorities in preparation for a big tender. The lady from Human Resources (People & Culture) just flat said "We aim to be inclusive, and if youre from *these particular minority groups* (LGBT/Aboriginals/non-whites) you will be prioritized for employment in all hiring across our departments." Just flat out admitting that they are actively discriminating when hiring for jobs based on what you look like/how you identify, regardless of qualifications, which is in fact illegal. They didnt want to take any questions though, which made sense.
